Sunday-Josh and I went to early voting today and out to lunch. Picked up some hot and sour soup for my Mom who's been in bed almost all day.

Later I'll take Josh home.

Hiker-Thanks for starting this week's thread. Appreciate your text very much in regards to my Mom.

Looks like a laid back day just checking out the latest news and polls.

See you all tomorrow!

i cant believe i cant sleep i should be exhausted same thing last night it was so beautiful today i stayed out almost all day deadheading and transplantig...its not quite done yet

l also gave away a microwave and 3 coats i wish it didnt take 4 hrs of texting to do that...but im glad they went to someone who needed them

last night i bougt 2 glass and metal tables(no mold food) for 30. and after gardrning i cleaned them up and set them up as tv tables they look good and now i have two sets of 3 shelves that match for more storage that was a good deal

i also moved the heaviest stuff from the dining room to the living room to get ready for guys to remove floor tuesday...i still have to empty pantry and mve two more small tables

a fe days ago i bought a table from craigslist for 20. and had the handiman saw of 3.5 inches from the legs and it is perfect size and height for counter work from wc...so that was a good deal too

i still have to finish stuffing the shed with odds and ends in carport and bring the snow shovels up from the big shed and then i will be ready for winter...not that i ll be shoveling...but it just seems like the right thing to do

ak...i saw that pic of you and josh...honestly you are stunning...really you look like an actress...hard to imagine you setting pavers and cutting bushes(i guess thats a sexist remark...but just take it as a complement)

i think my pain shows in my face...its wearing me down. the surgery scares me but living like this is not good. i just hope its successful

i got all my hair cut off with a perm on top its the same cut my sister has for those of you who saw hr pic on my fb page she was holding a big fat carrot she grew, this was a big step for me but again its close to impossible to do anyting to my hair with one hand. i also figured out i cant put on sox or a bra and underware takes for ever and is dangerous...i alsmost fall a lot

i think im gonna have to have someone dress me every 24 hrs...and just sleep in clothes...and control keep the heat way higher than i usually do cuz i cant put on a sweater ...even pulling blankets up is hard i have some small fleeces that i can get on me if i wwork hard at it

i wonder how ppl learn to do this stuff who lose limbs there must be a way i havent figured out

hows your mom hiker...i guess i shoule go back and read last weeks post i ve missed a few days i hope shes recovering and you got good news with the tesr

tutu when i read hear and there about histamine and and mast cell the sx dont really seem right i have some of them but i have figured they are from other things my phone is getting more tolerable after 2 weeks in a plastic bag but it still doesnt work well i think i am one of the ppl tmobole is cutting the speed oe whatever

Kayak, I didn't think you had the most common symptoms either, but it's hard to say.

Nov 9 is soon. I know you dread it. I sure hope it will all be worth it. ❤️

I've been out having fun with my new friends from Alabama. They are leaving in the morning.

I hope to get my computer back tomorrow.

Hiker, hope your mom is ok.

I agree that AK looks awesome! Hey, you don't look sick!!!

Monday-PT off and on today. Light cooking, washed dishes, one load of laundry and some dead heading too.

Helped my Mom shower and change clothes and took her to an acupuncture doc. Also put lidocaine patches on her. So today she feels better.

Kayak-Are you sure that's my Facebook page? Lol! I tell you, that $25 flea market wig that I bought must be magic! Thanks for the compliment.

Oh, I wanted to tell you what I did after my shoulder surgeries. I could not wear a bra at all unless my sister helped me with it. After surgeries I wore elastic sweat or yoga pants and super large men's button down shirts. Slip on shoes too. With the baggie shirt going braless wasn't as noticeable. I feel for you Kayak and sure hope you have a speedy recovery.

Hiker-Way to go on the walking! Hope you catch up on some rest this week.

TuTu-Hard to live without a computer. I use my tablet a lot but online banking and purchases I like to do on my laptop.

That not looking sick comment is common for a lot of us. I watched UOS for the first time and I know some of those folks had to deal with that too. I heard it all the time from almost everyone I knew.

A friend of mine who had breast cancer would dress up for chemo and radiation treatments. She tackled that part of her life head on.

Well, it's 1:36 here and I have to get up at 7:30 for two PT appointments.

See you all tomorrow!

lp, you did so much in one day!! wow.

Yesterday I went to the gym, then came home and took a nap. I don't know if it counts. HAHA

Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :

HW88--Gym counts. Power naps count, too.

Met the furnace man after school today. Tomorrow the plumber comes.

I did manage to walk a little over 20 minutes.

Time for a good meal and then watching the World Series--at least some of it. Will not stay up if the game is long.

Tuesday-2 PT appointments and doing my therapy off and on throughout the day. Got my haircut super short all the color was cut out. Now I'm salt and peppered.

Just cooked and cleaned kitchen for me and my Mom. She ate more today and her pain is less. Thank you guys for all the prayers.

HW88-The nap counts, gym might be iffy! [Big Grin]

Hiker-You catching up on your rest? Josh is coming for dinner tomorrow. Since I'm not working I try to cook us all a meal midweek to give him a break. They started evaluations already and he's a bit stressed.

Well, not much to post exercise wise but hopefully that'll change once my back is better.

Night gang!

[sleepy]

AK--You and I must be on the same hair schedule. I get mine cut tomorrow. I have a lot more grey showing up, but I will stay naturally brown and grey. LOL

Plumber came and fixed the toilet. It just needed a new flapper, which I could have done myself had I known that was the issue.

Such a nice guy. He did not charge me a penny for coming over and putting in the flapper. Didn't even charge me for the part.

Raining today. May ride the exercise bike a little while if I can get motivated.

We had early meetings this morning, so I am sure I will need my beauty sleep tonight.

Hump day-Spent the day cooking and cleaning the kitchen. Broke out the crockpot and made a wonderful beef stew for dinner. Had crescent rolls and raspberry bars too. Thank God for Pillsbury and Krusteaz for making my job easier.

My Mom actually enjoyed her dinner and ate almost a cup of stew. Made me happy to see my family enjoying their dinner.

So, I'm counting that as exercise today. Also did my usual PT stuff.

Hiker-Wish I could just leave my hair natural but I'm hoping I can go job hunting soon. As much as I don't like to, I've got to spruce up some. When I went back to work in 2011 some of the young ladies I worked with gave me great suggestions. I need all the help I can get!

BTW, one of my friends told me about a part time job at her church doing administrative work. I might mosey on down there....

Anyways, gotta go tackle the dirty crockpot!

I'm here. Exhausted. Got thru MRI. It was very hard. I read all posts. Hope to come back and reply soon. Really glad about your mom ak

Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :

LP--I hate MRI's. Glad you got through ok.

Got my hair cut and then went to one grocery store where I get organic meat. The line to check out was not too long, but the guy in front of me unloaded all of his groceries and then just left because he was so impatient and there they sat. I don't understand people sometimes.

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

That's crazy about the groceries, hiker!! ....You found a great plumber!

Ak, the church job sounds good!

I will likely never color my hair. By the time I turn gray I'll be OLD. 😀

Kayak, hang in there. Hope you get everything done that needs to be done.

I made it to exercise on Tuesday, but missed today. We had an Operation Christmas Child rally. I cried when I heard some of the stories of how lives were changed forever just with a simple shoe box.

Thursday-Spent the day cooking and cleaning again. Did my PT exercises too. Cooking was extreme! Made pork neck bone broth then took the meat off the bones and sauteed it with soy sauce, ginger and sugar. Added miso and Japanese winter melon to the broth. Prepping that melon took about 45 minutes!

Did all this hoping my Mom would eat more. She ate very little. [Frown]

Kayak-Hi! Glad you made it through your MRI. I have claustrophobia and either have to drink a couple shots of alcohol or take drugs, sometimes both. One time I just freaked out and clawed my way out. I was so embarrassed. So now I always take something.

Hiker-Maybe that guy really had to pee or had explosive diarrhea! [Big Grin]

Tutu-I remember coloring my hair during my Lyme treatment and I had a hideous reaction. The dye burned my scalp and the whole thing peeled like a bad sunburn. When I mentioned it later on to my LLNP she informed me that I couldn't use hair color during treatment. [Roll Eyes]

See everyone tomorrow!

Friday at last. Long day at work, but the kids were great.

Stopped at the second grocery I go to on the way home from work.

Am going to put my feet up and watch the World Series tonight.

Ak--sorry your mom wasn't hungry. What you made sounds good. Maybe it would clear out my clogged sinuses.

Tutu--so glad you are involved with Operation Christmas Child. I know you have a big heart for kids.

I always admire you all on this thread. I did yoga 3 times this week so feeling pretty good.

Happy Friday

AK .. MCAS patients have to be very careful with chemicals. I had to give up perms about 5 yrs ago. No great loss. Now I can't even have my hair when she's just done a perm. She looks out for me when she schedules.

Thanks, hiker. It's been fun. I'm exhausted, but it's a good feeling to do this every year. The kids are worth it.

I'm glad you had a good Friday!! Hope the Cubs win for you. My Spurs have won their first two games .. beat Golden State .. the new "Super Team"... hahahahaa

ilovedogs... yoga is good stuff!

Got my computer back but it was messing up again after the repairman brought it back. So we are trying something overnight. He thinks it's one of the Rams.

We worked at church on the shoe boxes. We are putting old calendar pics in the inside lids of the boxes. Then we will add a Bible verse which will be printed out on white paper and glued on. Hard work, for sure!

Our goal is 200+ boxes.

Friday-I'm a wreck! My Mom had a heart attack this morning. She's in ICU.

Let me tell you guys about a miracle....

4 this morning my Mom woke me up and said she was sick. She said she needed to throw up so I helped her to the bathroom. She complained about terrible heartburn and said her meds felt like they stuck in her throat.

I stayed there quite awhile with her in the bathroom. She said that she was breaking out in a cold sweat. After getting sick several times she said she felt better.

She went back to bed and so did I.

Later we went to acupuncture and from there to the ER to get fluids in her.

Someone ordered an EKG. We were supposed to be going for an abdominal cat scan. How she ended up getting an EKG instead is a mystery to me.

Afterwards things just exploded into a rush of activity getting her to the cardiac unit and she had a heart cath. No blockages but she's still in ICU for observation.

Diagnosis, mild heart attack. I thought she was just dehydrated.

Thank God for impressing me to take her to the ER.

Now I just wait.

Wow. A k . Lots of prayers your way. Seems like you are really tuned in so keep following your gut

They are totally Lyme and mold illiterate

Its hard. And surgery is getting closer. I really need to focus on that now

Sad news. M e r s a is back for brother recovering from shoulder surgery. He has another surgery 11/11. We 'll be in hospital same time

Maybe all our luck with turn around

Ak--lifting up prayers. God will watch over you and your mom no matter what happens.

Lp-praying for you and your family, as well.

Gorgeous day here--in the 70's. So, worked outside a bit cutting back more perennials.

Doing odd chores around the house--cleaning waste cans, laundry, cooking etc.

Have Illini football on while I am doing chores.

Will watch Cubs again tonight with a friend.

I'm resting. My son did what would have taken me weeks to do and tons of pain in a few hours. Actually minutes. Incredible. I rested and just sat near where he was working just to be near him. I tried to keep my mouth shut hoping it would make him start a conversation but it didn't happen. I blab too much. But it was all good...no anger and stuff. I napped then got going on laundry and putting back stuff. I start special food and meds tomorrow and am not supposed to go around sick ppl or buildings that make me sick until surgery so I had today as deadline for certain things

A k I sure hope things are getting better

Hiker that sounds like a fun day to me...

Tutu hope computer finally gets fixed right

Wow, AK! What a miracle indeed!! Thank God she is "OK." A friend of ours responded the same way when he had a heart attack. It was mostly stomach pain.

It went undiagnosed for maybe two months. By that time, he had heart damage.

So .. we all need to remember that signal. This has been going on quite awhile with your mother being weak and not wanting to eat.

Some smart doctor ordered that EKG!

Kayak .. I'm so glad your son was able to come by to help you! I will add you and your brother to my prayer list. I'm so sorry he has to have surgery again. It's so scary that they don't have a handle on MRSA.

I went to the church this morning and worked on the shoe boxes. I organized the underwear and socks by age groups, then worked on gluing more calendar pics. I think we only have 50 to go. Then we will work on the Bible verses.

I almost feel guilty that I have it so easy over here compared to you guys! I have my pain issues, my gut issues, but it could be so much worse.

Did I tell you that I met with our newly formed MCAS support group on Wednesday? There were five of us and I know we'll grow because a doctor in the same practice as mine has offered to speak to our group. I'm sure she will refer patients to us.

I loved everybody in the group. We talked for 3 hours at Fuddruckers! [Smile]

hiker .. Hope the Cubs win... but now you have to root for my Spurs once in awhile! [Big Grin]

Saturday-Just got home a little while ago. Mom is still in ICU. Saw her cardio today and he said it was a 'weird' heart attack. No blockages, one artery blocked only 50%. He said it should be manageable with meds.

I'm still worried......

Thanks for all prayers!

More later.....

Ty tutu. My brothers name is Mark. 3 hrs would have worn me out. But is really good to have some to talk to who really get it

A k. Hang in. Don't know what else to say

I bought 6 cotton night gowns a size larger than I wear hoping I can get in and out of them and and they will sort of look like a line dresses. Most are dark heavy material. Tada! I was able to get in and out of the red one with one hand. Wasn't easy but I did it. I'm all ready for christmas!
