I have recently noticed that my skin is taking on a crepey look. I don't want to be vain and I realize I have greater priorities then my looks but I feel like I look as if I've aged a lot since all the stress and EBV reactivation.

I just wondered what lymies can do for aging skin etc?

I also had to have several teeth pulled and have yet to get them replaced so my self-esteem has taken quite the blow as if being sick and limited isn't enough I now feel I will never have the hope of a relationship or feel OK with how I look. I guess I had resigned myself to not feeling well but not this. Not yet.

Surely something natural or otherwise could help.
I tried tazorac recently that I got for acne scars but it made my skin red painful and peel. I also worry that this stuff could be toxicnd worsen Lyme.

Sorry for the vain post and I hope it's not insulting but it bothers me.

Ruh roh!

[Eek!]

Hide all the mirrors! It's Tommyboy coming this way again!

(Just kidding!)

It is concerning that you are feeling not up to par with your health and also now with your appearance. That sucks!

Sometimes I wonder why I don't paint myself purple so people would notice THAT first instead of all the other flaws I see in me.

Are you able to go to a dermatologist? You can tell them that you've been ill and would at least like to look better while you are recovering.

Maybe they could recommend something that won't peel the skin off of you?

In the meantime, maybe a little coconut oil till then? NOT too much, you don't want to herx too!

Here is a link about some of the benefits of coconut oil.

Now I am no expert in this, but I will say that using "collagen" in a product may not be the best idea. ???

This is me "figuring" so bear with me cause I don't have the knowledge I should, but feel it is important.

From what I understand Lyme causes skin symptoms at all stages of the disease. And the spirochetes "feed on" (for lack of better words) the collagen. So before I'd use collagen, I'd think that over twice.

Here is a study about damage to collagen, Lyme and skin.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3751012/

Hope some of this helps. In the meantime, try to remember that you are beautiful on the inside and if someone has a problem with your looks they can stick it.

[lol]

tincup, It is also my understanding that the bacteria feeds on collagen.

The controversy comes do you take something with collagen in order to rebuild or does it just feed the buggers?

What are your thoughts? Same idea as magnesium.... feed them or help you??

I used to have beautiful skin but now its old and tired looking, like 90 years.

ive tried all kind of cosmetics, vitamins, etc. nothing works.

I hate waking up with puffy bags under my eyes, red face, splotchy face, itchy eyes.

I look terrible. like a mugshot....
