Hi <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,

I've been looking up DNA/Genetics genealogy and so on. This statement was made on one of many interesting articles.

' We all have two family trees...' . turns out it is the Genealogical Tree, and the DNA/genetic family tree.

Tho't it was interesting, I was looking up why sometimes unusual things show up,or other info' doesn't show up in our DNA profiles.

Women get some differing info' than men, but I was curious about some info' that showed up,and some that didn't in my test last year.

Often, when we are told you have this or that ethnicity in your blood lines, you actually do,but it may be to far back to come thru.

Some of the various articles go back thru a breakdown of blood lines from you back thru 7th or 8th g' grandparent back. Don't know if I explained that right but I found it interesting.

By the way... 23&Me has started adding updates from 120 more populations for it's customers... they have said it will take awhile. should be interesting.

Jus Silverwolfi sharing tho'ts, while getting over a bit of a bug...

Hi, Silver! How's life been treating you?

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>,

Thanks for asking! Been a bit tired we've had a couple of flu and intestinal type bugs hit here.

I don't think I've had it quite as bad as TrekC',my cough was no where near as harsh as his.

He is some better, but waiting on blood tests and urinalysis he had today. We are hoping it's nothing too serious. He has another appointment next week.

Finally got my Cardio-size done, AmerGroup [now under Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield] will not pay for more than 36 sessions, they cost around $110 per session. So we joined a gym, my Cardiologist recommended.

Haven't gone yet because the flu hit, hoping too go to gym, maybe the end part of the week?!

Since the quintuple bypass, I've been having weight gain and bra sizing issues. Metoprolol adds weight, so I am now on half dose.

We suspect that some swelling in the sternum area is scar tissue, from the surgery and wires, that put me back together. It gets frustrating, The bra fits for few hours, and then I can feel the band seeming to tighten.

That's all we've been able to figure out, I was told that it is unusual for that to occur.

I've been trying to investigate some more on the 23&Me info' ,well DNA in general, and genealogy. Interesting to say the least, especially the potential Melungeon Heritage Info'.

Had to laugh, when they started talking about, info' and genealogy passed down thru families of possible Melungeon Heritage. There are some rather interesting 'tales'. And amusingly they are often true!

Also, sadly, some of the medical problems that can occur, can be difficult to deal with, especially for folks who have/had no idea that they may have such problems.

For instance, if some one has middle eastern blood in the lineage and never knew, they may be at risk for Mediterranean Familial Fever, and Bechets disease [unsure of spelling].

Found out I have some Ashkenazim Jewish blood, only a little, way back, and a couple of different African Heritages as well. It fascinates me... so does the bit of Iberian ancestry, who knows what else.

I'm even a little bit Scandinavian, and TrekC' is more, and we have Neanderthal markers too, more than average.

I'd be having fun If I could get over being so tired... aw well, doing the best we can here. TrekC' is only a couple lessons away from his Sunday School teaching break. He is still keeping up w/ Choir, and Wed. PM Song Leading.

Haven't been able to go to services, still fighting the rash, which makes it hard to sit still and pay attention... sigh. I miss it, so am going to see if we can get some of Pastors sermons on CD.

Reading is the same problem, even typing here, I get distracted ridiculously easily. Even with my long-worded style. Between itching, needing to use the restroom, and ADD type issues, I am sorta worn down.

Just trying to smile thru it, and keep my chin up...

Hope you and your loved ones are well,as can be,and over these flu bugs, and infections that seem to come with it.

Hey Silver, I have an idea for your bra problem.

You can purchase bra band extensions. They are super simple to use, connect hooks from bra to loops of extender, then hooks of extender to loops of bra. I hope I didn’t confuse. It’s almost too simple to explain!

The bra extenders are usually sold in maternity sections of the store. Sometimes in the bra, underwear, sock section. Sometimes they’re hard to find because they sell out!

They always come in small package, approx the size of an index card. Each pack will have a black, white, & beige(sp?) colors.

Be sure to look at how many hooks/ loops your favorite bra has (1,2,3) & pick the extender with the matches.

This is a cheap way to restore comfort & fit to your favorite bras!

Hi <<<<< sammy >>>>>,

How are you? Better, I hope!

Already got the bra extenders the other day, I had one that's home made, and added a small box store bought ,of them. The store bought only has tan and black, so I'll need to sew up a white one too.

Fantastic idea, I can feel when things start swelling tho' even w/ the extenders. I have a little bra that I've been wearing at night, and had to take it off about 3:00 something this a.m.

I was told not to get discouraged, because all of us heal at a different rate, I just hate being so tired tho'.

Thinking of the hooks most of my bras are 4's ,one in an 8 hook in the front...so that is interesting.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I do hope y'all are better!

Jus' that Silverwolfi here,

Hello <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,

I'm still having fun w/ the Genetics and Ancestry info', 23&Me updated, and now I'm even more cornfused... LOL!!!

I did find out, if you've been told all your life that you were of particular ancestral groups, you likely actually are, if it is 5 or 6 generations back, it may not show in your particular genetic DNA at all.

That's interesting. Thanks!

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>,

You're most welcome!!

Seems the genetics/DNA isn't an exact science as yet. Some things can be found in our DNA from 10 or 12 generations back, and somethings may 'disappear' 5 0r 6 generations back.

And siblings can have various differences, that one wouldn't expect. This can be very different,in groups such as those w/ the Melungeon ancestral heritage.

It is fun to learn about!
