Welcome to the friendly exercise thread! We like to post our activities to encourage one another to be as active as possible.

So if you're walking, gardening, doing some housework, rafting, weight training, running, hiking, etc. we'd like to hear about.

Here we go with another rip roaring week of moving as much as we can!

[woohoo]

Ak--Thanks for starting us off.

Manna--All those mint plants for tea sound wonderful. You must have a lot of space for all you grow and your goats etc.

Church service was via Zoom for me today. I am still not comfortable going in person.

I did a load of laundry.

I took a load to the recycling center and then dropped off library books on the way home.

Very hot and humid again today. I think we will get some relief tomorrow with rain.

Sunday is always the day I call my mom, so we yakked for an hour.

The rest of Sunday I relax, but being retired I probably relax more than most people. [Big Grin]

Have a great week! [Cool]

AK ..thanks for beginning our thread!

Hiker .. I didn't realize your church was open. I don't blame you for attending church on Zoom.

I'm glad you and your mom can still chat on the phone for that long. That is good!

Our pastor took the week off, so hubby read a sermonette and we sang an extra song. The die hards were all there, plus a few visitors.

Took a nap this afternoon. I have to begin a walking plan because this COVID weight is sticking. Barely doing any shopping has made things worse.

Now it's supposed to be rainy all week. Perhaps I can get in short walks between rainfall. At least it will be cooler this week.

Hubby has been going to the golf range this week. He's finally bored enough to do that. Now with the rain, he may be stuck inside again. He loves his bike rides, but it's been so hot.

I need to go work at church for OCC. It's hot in the back room, so I'm not looking forward to that part. Our group is ready to begin working, so I'm planning how we could do it safely.

We have several rooms we could spread out in to do the work.

By this time, I usually have the inventory done and everything organized by item. Now all I have is bags of stuff! [Smile]

Hung a couple of small plastic hummingbird feeders that I bought my Mom from Amazon. They look like flowers. We were thrilled with all the attention they're getting.

No exercise but was busy with Sunday dinner. Thank goodness I did most of the prep work yesterday.

Hiker thanks for reminding me that Manna is growing mint for tea. I sure forgot. You got quite a few errands done! Glad you had a phone visit with your Mom.

TuTu I've gained some weight too! Sigh! Sure hope you all stay safe getting things done for OCC!

Time to read!

Got up early to go to Kroger. Try to go there when not crowded. Of course, I forgot 2 items on my grocery list, but can live without them.

I did my knee exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

We got a lot of rain today. Hurrah. I don’t have to water but the weeds will flourish along with the flowers.

AK— You have hummingbirds? I bought a new hummingbird feeder but was waiting until they migrate south in August/September to put it out.

Tutu—OCC is such a great cause. Glad you enjoy working on it.

Wow, that is amazing that you have hummingbirds right now, AK!! I'm looking forward to seeing them on my plants. They love my lantana and I KNOW they will also love the morning glory.

The morning glory is still not blooming, but the seed packet said it will bloom in August and Sept, so I'm not worried. No buds yet.

hiker .. I think I figured out how to do the packing party. We just go in single file down the row (make one on each side) and stay 6 ft apart.

I think I will also make them wear masks, because I don't want to be sued! Not that I don't trust my people, but if someone got COVID and died, it could be a different story.

Right now, I'm taking the stuff out of my trunk and removing the packaging. We always do that, so I'm getting ahead that way. More stuff can go in the boxes if we remove the junk packaging.

Did you also know that most countries do not have a way to dispose of trash? If they remove the packaging there, then it lines the streets and pathways. (or they burn it, and that's even worse for them)

I did go to a grocery store today and picked up some bottled water since we were out. My pickup order will be ready tomorrow.

I also took two bags of items to donate to the thrift shop. They've been in my car for a month. The thrift shop I usually donate to is the one for our hospital auxiliary.

I found out today that it is permanently closed. The workers are all elderly ladies who donate their time, so I'm sure they aren't willing to put themselves at risk for that.

We are getting rain now and it's supposed to be a cool front. YAY!

I'm off for now ... have a good evening everyone!

Finally worked out today to my 3 DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine. Afterwards took my Mom to pick up her meds and mine. We also ran a couple errands.

Hiker we didn't have any hummingbirds last year for some reason. I've seen a few but one of them is greedy and chases and cheeps angrily at the other two. I tell my Mom we're going to have one fat hummingbird.

TuTu sounds like a good plan to keep yourself and others safe while getting the OCC boxes ready. Ditto what Hiker says about it being a great cause!

Off to watch TV!

Nice sunny day here.

I went for a short walk.

Did my balance exercises.

Weeded a bit. Never ending process.

Talked to my Florida buddy whose mom died of Covid. She herself is still sick after almost a month. Has had two tests and each one has taken over a week to get back.

Finished up my new power of attorney for health care and got it witnessed and sent it to the successor agents listed.

It's not an easy disease to conquer. Worrisome to say the least.

I hope your friend gets well soon!!

I don't think there are as many cases as they say, but that doesn't make it any less dangerous.

Did all my exercises and ran a couple of errands. It cooled down a bit so did some yard work for a couple hours. Picked up limbs and sticks, pulled weeds and small saplings, picked up trash and trimmed the bushes.

Now I'm watching Crocodile Dundee II.

Hiker I bet you feel relieved taking care of your health power of attorney. Way to go on getting the walk in and your exercises to boot!

TuTu my brother mentioned ongoing problems that he's heard about. I hope and pray that they don't have any lingering after effects.

Back to my movie....

Yeah, that is scary too, AK. My friends who were very very ill with it are just fine now. I hope it stays that way.

I went to close by grocery and pharmacy this morning.

I did my knee exercises.

I made zucchini bread from a giant zucchini a friend gave me. It is on the cooling rack now. I would have made two loaves but only have one bread pan. [bonk] Think I will grate the rest of the zucchini and freeze it to make another loaf later.

Zipped to the bank. I am still amazed at how much groceries have gone up. A simple bottle of generic Tylenol was $9. [shake]

Our yard guy came out today and cut our grass and did some weed whacking. It started to rain and he just kept on working.

He's going to come out every 3 weeks and it helps me a lot!

Worked out to my 3 DVDs, did my facial exercises and pelvic routine.

Made gluten-free blueberry pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs for brunch for me and Mom.

Squeezed in 2 loads of laundry and then went to Tractor Supply to look and see if they had any contractor grade landscape fabric, rain barrels and other things. They only had a rain barrel that wasn't that great. Started to rain again so just came home.

Vegging now and think I'll make either a cup of tea or cocoa.

TuTu I think my brother mentioned some fatigue but other than that he feels fine too.

Hiker that zucchini bread sounds delicious! Do you blanch your zucchini before you freeze it?

See you all tomorrow!

AK- I grate the zucchini and freeze it. But when I thaw it back out to make zucchini bread I really have to drain and squeeze the water out. I only freeze it to make bread later.

Bacon sounds heavenly. 😋

I had Bible study this morning. One more and then we are taking a month off.

I did my balance exercises.

Chatted with my BFF on the phone. Also talked to my county jail chaplain friend. She had to go get the covid test as inmates are starting to test positive at the jail.

Grated the rest of that big zucchini and froze it. Otherwise it has been that kind of lazy day. Light rain most of the day and cooler.

Good night to be a couch potato.

AK .. my friend was very ill for about 2 months and then fatigue for another month, so that is a long time.

She just went back to full time work today.

Hiker .. glad you had a quiet day.

I didn't do a whole lot, but I washed sheets and some clothes, washed dishes, watered plants, Swiffered the floors.

It's supposed to be cooler the rest of the week. They said that about the whole week, but I went to the grocery store today and it was 91. Yucko.

We've been having really pretty sunsets. I think we are working on another pretty one tonight.

See ya tomorrow!~!

Ugh, sleepless night, so giving up I got out of bed around 7:00 and did all my workouts.

Thank goodness I made extra pancakes and bacon yesterday, just had to scramble some eggs, so Mom and I had a repeat brunch.

Had plans with Josh so went to his house around 1:00 and we hit the local indoor flea market. Josh found me 2 albums, a Chuck Mangione and Steppenwolf!I

Afterwards we went to one of our fav Mexican restaurants and had a great dinner ala social distancing.

Went to his house to watch TV but fell asleep on the couch! How embarrassing! So home by nine and I'm ready to hit the hay.

Hiker thanks for the zucchini tip! I hope your friend's test is negative.

TuTu you got a lot done today! I didn't realize it takes that long to recover from Covid for some people.

Well gang, I'm beat so off to bed! Night all!

[sleepy]

I did my knee exercises this morning. I backed off the light weight for leg lifts as knee pain has ramped up again. Sigh.

Went to chiropractor. It was very busy and no room in the waiting area, so I sat in my car and had them call when they were ready for me.

I got my new lenses in my old frames today. Can't see a thing. LOL I think the prescription change was so drastic and I did not get them until later this afternoon that it will probably be fine. But, I made an appointment with the optical department for Tuesday in case there is an issue.

Making chicken salad for dinner. Being lazy and using canned chicken, because I didn't defrost anything.

AK .. We got to see Chuck Mangione in Texas many years ago. He was really good, of course. Also got to see Maynard Ferguson way back when.

Hiker .. I hope the glasses will work out for you. One time my husband couldn't see for about a year because they had the script wrong.

Today I did a bit more shopping for OCC. Dang, the stores are SO FULL OF CHEMICALS that it's not even funny. My eyes were burning in Walgreen's and I was only there about 10 minutes.

I may do more ordering online. I already ran into trouble because Dollar Tree doesn't have the scissors we always buy. I think I'm going to order online.

We're also ordering soccer balls. They come deflated and we add pumps and needles for the pumps. You can get them fairly cheap!!

Signing off for tonight!

Finished up the week with my usual 3 DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine. Take weekends off from my routine exercises. Yay!

My plan tomorrow is to measure the outdoor chairs and make a pattern so me and my Mom can work on making covers for them. Bought some really great fabric that was on sale.

Hiker have to be careful with weights. Josh and I are both having to use lighter weights. I hurt my neck and he hurt his elbow. Sigh! Hope you adjust to your new lenses.

TuTu I'm green with envy! I haven't listened to my new albums yet but probably will have some down time tomorrow. I do quite a bit of shopping online too. I ordered a rain barrel from Walmart that should be here by Wednesday.

Time to read! See everyone tomorrow!

Ak--Can't wait to hear about your chairs when you are done.

Tutu--Soccer balls are a super idea for OCC!

Slept in this morning. Rainy, so just snuggled up in bed.

Went to the library to return a few books and picked up one.

Did my balance exercises.

Make my usual fish, sweet potato, vegetable Saturday lunch. Potato was huge and I have enough of all for tomorrow.

Wrote a few letters.

BFF coming over for social distance patio chat. I think she is bringing Chipotle. If it rains I guess we will sit in the garage with both doors open. Covid is skyrocketing here and she starts school in a few weeks, so being very careful.

Off to write another letter.

Washed a few loads of laundry. Dried very nicely outside.

We did start the air conditioner again this afternoon. Could turn it off again overnight if it cools down enough. Chance of scattered thunderstorms overnight.

Watered my potted plants outside this afternoon. Need to water the indoor plants yet.

Brought some boxes down from the attic and sorted them. Found some pictures from way back - quite interesting! How young and thin we were then!

I like ordering some things online instead of running to the store. Saves time and sometimes its an item not on the shelf in the store, but you can get it online.

Time to go pick up sonny - he should be finished cleaning floors at the store.

Made brunch then ran an errand with Mom. Afterwards made the pattern for the chairs and cut all the fabric pieces. We're making reversible covers. Mom made the top piece of one and I'm making the bottom piece. So far they're coming out great!

Hiker how's the knee feeling? I know you're worried about your BFF. I'm worried about Josh too. BTW, Chipotle sounds delicious!

Manna I love looking at old pictures! I remember the days of not worrying about weight and exercise. Sigh!

Off to chitchat with Josh.
