Hi, everyone!!

Hope you're having a great Sunday!!

My brother went to church with us and then left for OK and Texas after our first service.

BLESSED!!

Tutu—Thanks for getting us started this week. So glad you could see your brother.

I went to church via zoom.

I did a load of laundry and watered my potted plants outside.

Beautiful day out and I had planned to sit outside and read but my neighbors have a fire going in the fire pit and the smoke is blowing my way. They are good neighbors so I am not going to complain.

I talk to my mom today and she did order a life alert bracelet for each of them. I will see them on Tuesday afternoon outside at the retirement center.

I am watching a little bit of the Bears NFL football game and reading.

Have a great week! [Cool]

Had a relaxing day at home. Took a nap this afternoon.

Thanks TuTu for getting us going! Am so glad that you had a wonderful time with your brother! And you get to do it all over again in 3 weeks!

Hiker I'm so relieved to hear that your folks are getting the life alert bracelets! I know you're looking forward to seeing them on Tuesday.

Manna glad you had some down time!

Josh came over for dinner so I cooked a brisket in the crockpot, sauteed some carrots, made cauliflower rice and a green salad. Also cut up fresh pineapple and grapes for dessert.

I had a lovely smoothie! [Big Grin]

Tomorrow is the 21st day of my liquid fast and on Tuesday I'll slowly come off of it. I feel so much better and histamine and inflammation are way down!

Have to be in tip top shape to take care of my Mom.

Night everyone!

[hi]

AK—glad your liquid fast has helped. Praying for your mom.

I cooked a little today.

Did my knee exercises.

Went for a short walk. But using my trekking poles kills my right shoulder and I still need my poles for walks.

Started looking into alternative care for my dad. He fell again last night and if he continues falling he would need an aide all day or to be moved to more skilled care. Mom is being stubborn still on the aide but moving to skilled care would separate them. [Frown]

Need to take recycling to neighbor’s bin and garbage to curb.

That's awful, hiker .. I understand. One step at a time.

AK .. That brisket sounded good! We bought some BBQ when my brother was here. The brisket was very very good. It was so tender!

I was not a fan of their coleslaw. That is disappointing since it's right down the road from us and coleslaw is one of my few safe foods. Oh well...make my own.

Spent half my day getting my tires rotated and balanced. Sigh.

My friend's daughter just came home from school with high fever. My friend is totally freaked, especially since she also has a fever. She simply cannot go through this AGAIN!!

[shake]

Up early and went to the PO to mail a package for my Mom and then picked up a few cans of organic soup and some avocados to break my fast with. It'll take a while so no meat.

Took the portapottie, walker and wedge pillow out of the shed and cleaned and sanitized them so they'll be ready to use on Saturday when me and Mom get back from Atlanta.

Did 2 loads of laundry and cleaned the front porch from ceiling (cobwebs) to floor.

Also took my car to the shop and was told it needs new tires (great) so I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Hiker thank you for the prayers! I'm praying for your Dad too! It's really hard to know what to do sometimes.

TuTu tires take so long nowadays! Funny both of our cars were in the shop today because of tires! Bummer about the coleslaw! Also I sure hope and pray that your friend and her daughter will be OK.

Well guess I'll try to wind down. Getting up early to take Mom for bloodwork.

Night everyone!

[sleepy]

I did my balance exercises.

Called to get a MD appointment with my dad, was told nurse would call back. That didn't happen.

Went to town where my parents live and went to the clinic where his MD is and made the appointment for tomorrow in person. Sheesh. So much medical red tape just to get an appointment. But I am glad he can get in to his MD so quickly.

I will drive over tomorrow and take him and talk to the MD.

Glad I was able to sit outside with my parents and another elderly friend.

Am home now and getting ready to fix dinner.

Had no hot water yesterday while they fixed the
outdoor furnace. Did the laundry today. Had a very nice breeze which dried the wash nicely.

Have 3 pairs of sneakers in the washer yet. Will let them hang out over night.

Watered some of my potted plants outside. Need to go water the rest of them and then the indoor ones too.

Sis-in-law is coming over this evening for some computer help. But not from me!! My hubby and some of the boys are the computer whizzes!

Started cleaning out my desk yesterday, but didn't get it finished. Didn't get to it today. Not sure how it gets so cluttered.........

Hiker .. I'm so sorry you had to drive all the way over there. It's nice that you got to see your parents though.

I hope your dad will talk to you tomorrow .. as well as talk to the doctor.

I went to church this morning to help put shoeboxes together. We also put calendar pics and Bible verses in them.

We still have more pics to add to some boxes.

I took two boxes to friends from the college where hubby used to teach. They are on FB with me and asked if I could get them some boxes.

I came home and did a few chores then crashed for a good nap.

By the way, over the past two days I've cleaned my bathroom drawers out. They hadn't been cleaned out in quite awhile.

Really sad thing: One of my favorite local entertainers (he's also international) just lost his father to COVID. He lost his mother last year so this is especially difficult.

To make matters worse, a friend of his came over to his dad's house and sat and chatted about his dad for who knows how long. The friend was supposed to be in quarantine!!!

So now the friend has tested positive and the entertainer can't attend his dad's funeral. PRAY FOR PEOPLE TO HAVE WISDOM in such things.

AK .. We will be praying for you and your mom. I sure hope she does well and you will be fine too.

[group hug]

I'm off to do my Bible study for tomorrow.

Busy day getting my Mom's pre op tests done. Also picked up my car with it's 4 new tires. Took my Mom to visit her BFF after dinner and now I'm finally relaxing.

Hiker I'm so glad that you're finally seeing your folks! What a blessing you are to them and especially your Dad. Sure hope his appointment goes well.

Manna sounds like you had a productive day! Enjoy visiting with your extended fam!

TuTu this Covid virus is a nightmare! How horrible for your friend. Also thank you so much for the prayers!

Boy, I'm wiped out and heading to bed! Night all!

Had an answer to prayer! My brother and family came over to see my Mom before her procedure this Friday. Josh came to so only his sister in FL was missing.

I set chairs in family groups 6 feet apart and a folding table and ice chest in the carport. Everyone had pizza except me.

My little Mom was so happy and that made me and Josh happy.

We all had a really good time!

Thank you God!

[group hug]

Oh, thank goodness, AK!!! I know that will boost her spirits significantly!

Congrats on the new tires too!!!

Hiker .. I hope you are OK after taking your dad to his MD. Prayers for all of you!!

I went to our Bible study today and it was good. One person is on a trip right now. We won't meet next week because two people will be gone. (We only have five.)

Today I cleaned out one of the kitchen drawers. I'm on a roll. Trying to get things done that haven't been done in quite awhile.

My friend whose daughter is sick (supposedly not COVID, but hmmm) is now starting to get really sick. We'll see how she is tomorrow.

She didn't want to use the same thermometer as her daughter (cleaned or not, it's scary!) so she sent her "English-as-a-second-language" husband to buy a thermometer. He came home with thermometer covers! CLOSE! [Big Grin]

The weather is awesome, but will be warmer the next few days. Then fall will officially be here.

See you tomorrow!

Ak--So glad your family got together. Best wishes tomorrow for your mom's treatment.

Tutu--Come on over and help me clean!

Took dad to MD yesterday. Very sad. He could not answer basic questions such as his birthdate, where he lived etc. Because he is starting to wander out of the apartment without mom knowing the MD recommended assisted living which is in the building across from my parent's retirement center. Mom does not want this. So, some hard decisions coming up.

Off to Bible study now. Back later.

Had Bible study via Zoom. Good as always.

Talked to the director of the Greenhouse (assisted living). She is going to work with resident support of retirement center and my mom to get my dad evaluated. Called mom and I know she still doesn’t want to move him there but he fell again last night and for his safety he needs to move. Pray I can convince her and not have to force the move.

Did my balance exercises.

Called and yakked with my NC friend.

Started working on next week’s Bible study.

Washed one load of table cloths. Still in the washer because I forgot to hang them out. Will do it as soon as I'm done here.

Brought the single bed frames down from the attic to clean up and sell. No need to keep storing them when nobody is using them.

Wiping them down with water & white vinegar cleaner and then polishing with olive oil & lemon juice blend. Amazing how much better they look!

Josh brought dinner tonight from Olive Garden. I ate the minestrone soup and had a bit of steamed broccoli.

I just medicated myself so I'll get some sleep. Waking up at 5:30 and it'll be a long day tomorrow. Now that I'm in bed I feel a bit apprehensive.

TuTu the visit boosted her spirits a whole lot! My new tires got rid of the wobble I was experiencing while driving. Yay! I hope and pray that your friend and daughter will be OK.

Hiker my friend, I'm sending you a hug! I'm so sorry about your Dad! It's going to be hard on your folks to be separated but for safety's sake it really seems necessary.

Manna are those bed frames wood or metal? I like Amish milk for cleaning wood furniture but am open to trying something new.

Well it's prayer and Bible study time. Night all!

Wooden bed frames.

Yesterday Hubby was helping one son work on his vehicle. They had ordered parts and they sent the wrong one. So had to return it and order the right one. Now waiting for the right one to show up.

They wanted to fix this themselves instead of paying a lot to the garage man when his vehicle goes for inspection next week.

Today he was helping our youngest son fix the riding lawn mower. He even took it for a few rounds to be sure its working right.

Today youngest son finally got his online schooling set up for this term. They were very busy and it just took awhile to get everything lined up.

Manna--You all sound busy over there!

I did my knee exercises.

I went to the eye center for the 6th time this summer to get the newest lenses for my glasses. I will wear them for awhile, but they still don't seem right.

The optician was so kind and patient and felt bad that they still don't seem correct. Thank goodness I only paid for the first exam and first set of lenses. This is the 3rd set of lenses.

I made a big pot of spaghetti sauce. Seems like every few weeks I do that and freeze most of it.

Stopped at the library to drop off books and pick up one on hold.

I started putting together a list of everything my dad would need should he move to assisted living. I am not allowed to go into either place right now, so am unable to help pack him up to move. But I may be getting ahead of myself as I am not sure when the director will assess him.

I gathered some pictures of he and my mom and also my brother and I and put in frames with labels on the back for him. Since he and mom have lived together for 67 years when we give them pictures we just give them one together instead of giving each a separate one.

Jim is here mowing. I asked him to cut the lawn a bit shorter this week, so maybe he won't have to come next week.

Have a great Friday evening.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Hiker .. I hope things go well with the possible move. 67 years is a such an amazing thing!! I pray everything will work out in its time.

I'm busy washing clothes this morning .. now it's afternoon. Almost finished. Not sure which project will be next.

Gathered the trash and will take that out and get the mail soon.

Have a beautiful fall day, everyone.

I’m sitting on the couch icing my shoulder because like an idiot yesterday I tried to dig out the Yucca that keeps coming back up beside my hydrangeas. I thought the young man who pulled it out last year had gotten the whole thing but alas he didn’t.

I did my balance exercises today.

I did one load of laundry and most of it is hanging on the dryer rack to dry downstairs.

I watered my potted plants outside and if it doesn’t rain in the next few days I’m going to have to water some of the perennials.

I’m going to have a lazy evening of watching TV and reading.

Had a rainy day today. Nice gentle showers off and on. It was needed as the lane was very dusty. The back window of my vehicle was in great need of a washing because of the dust!

Went to the bank and the feed store for goat feed this morning. As soon as I walked back in the door, hubby had an order to ship off to the post office. She already had the door locked, but was outside collecting the mail in the big blue mailbox. So she very kindly took my package in the back door.

Worked at sorting through some boxes of old papers, cards, and pictures from the attic. We were young back then!! Had some chuckles over some of those!
