Good afternoon, everyone!!

How are you today??

We had church and then ate out. It took quite awhile, so I am ready for my mandatory Sunday nap!!

I watched the National Cathedral Church Service this morning.

Did a load of laundry.

Vacuumed the car and used Armour All on some inside parts. Hope to wash the outside this week.

BFF coming over soon for a porch chat. Schools start here tomorrow so I will see less of her. Universities in town start tomorrow as well, so I have to really be careful driving with all
the crazy coeds. [Roll Eyes]

Have a great week and keep moving! [Cool]

Thanks TuTu for getting us started this week! I had a rough day after getting home so late last night from Atlanta. It was a long day and didn't get home until after 11:00 p.m. Traffic wasn't fun either but at least there was no rain.

Woke up around 9:15 but ended up going back to bed around 2:00 for a much needed nap.

Josh picked up pizza for dinner so I didn't have to cook.

Hiker be safe out there with all the young drivers! We have so many accidents here. Friday I was at a red light and the car right next to me got rear ended. So scary that people don't pay attention to their driving.

BTW, our hummers are getting BIG! My Mom said they were fighting like crazy over the feeders. We still enjoy seeing them but wish they wouldn't fight so much!

Back to watching Aladdin. Night gang!

AK—I hate driving around Atlanta. Glad my brother comes up to see my mom! Rest up and we are praying your mom hears good news about her MRI tomorrow.

Did my knee exercises.

Went to Kroger to use my organic meat coupons and get some cereal etc. I paid with cash and didn’t have exact change. After I handed the cashier the $ she told me they don’t give coin change in return. What? I always pay cash there and that has never happened before. Decided to go elsewhere to get gas.

Also went to Walgreens to get sinus rinse bottles. I switch them out every few months. There website price was a lot cheaper than the shelf price so they matched it and gave me coin change. Lol

Grilled a pork chop and will cut it up to put on my salad tonight with broccoli, celery, carrots, and strawberries.

Took down a small fence that I had put up between my lot and the church lot. Kept kids from crossing into my yard. Now that a young lady has bought the lot, I don’t need it and it is an eyesore. Dragged it to the curb and someone is sure to come by and want it.

Called mom. Then took a nap. Even though I seem to be over the virus that plagued me for three weeks I still feel a bit zapped.

Hired Luke do take out my small dead tree. Won’t take much to chainsaw it down but I didn’t think my shoulder could handle digging out the roots. May have him do some other yard work. He is a great young man who works full time at the electric car plant (Rivian) and has very reasonable prices.

He said he would even go get soil to fill in the tree hole for me, so I don’t have to lift the 40 pound bags. I’d marry that man if he was 30 years older. [Wink]

Still need to take the garbage, the recycling, and the landscape waste to the curb.

Hey there!

Ak .. I have never been to Atlanta. Weird, huh!?

hiker .. good job on getting the best price! That yard guy does sound pretty good!

I went to c. rehab and did 10 min on the NuStep, 4 min on the ergometer bike and then the 4 min on the arm cranks, weights, etc.

I can really tell a difference when I go shopping now. It's so much easier to get around and do what I need to do!

I left there and went to Walgreen's and two other stores. I even bought more school supplies for OCC.

No nap today, but I rested quite awhile.

See you guys tomorrow!

It was a fasting day for me but I did eat some grapes. Had coffee, tea, almond milk and a protein drink. All my bad eating is catching up with me and I need to get my histamine down.

I've been dizzy so don't think I'm going to go bike riding this week and anyways we're having some bad weather starting tonight.

I made Mom some lunch and she had leftovers for dinner.

I've been resting today and am still tired! I must be getting old!

TuTu way to go on all the exercise! You're inspiring me to get busy and build some muscle. I've got the paver patio project coming up once it gets cool but I need to be in better shape for all the hauling and lifting.

Hiker I dragged my garbage can to the curb already. Checked the mail and secured potted plants, etc. outside for the bad weather headed my way.

Thank you all for the prayers for my Mom. We find out tomorrow if she's still cancer free.

Heading to bed and will see you all tomorrow!

AK--Praying for your mom (and you). Keep us posted.

Did my back and balance exercises.

Watered plants outside.

Worked on Bible study.

Chatted with mom.

Took a short nap. Still having sinus issues but am so much better than I was a few weeks ago. Whatever I had really zapped me and I still don't have all my energy back.

My little Mom's liver cancer lesions are back and her care team at Winship Cancer Institute at Emory in Atlanta has decided on a more aggressive treatment this time. She's going to have a radiation embolization procedure this time around. As you all probably guessed, we were surprised and saddened about the news.

Thank you all for the prayers and I'll let you all know when she goes for the procedure. 2 weeks beforehand she has to have the arteries of her liver mapped out and then they'll perform the procedure.

Before her Zoom appointment I had to pick up quite a bit of yard debris from the bad weather we had last night. I didn't see any serious damage thank God.

Also did a couple of loads of laundry.

Now I'm just sitting here.....thinking.....and worrying.

Need to take care of notarizing her Power of Attorney and making sure it's up to par. Already sent an email to my attorney who helped me with setting my affairs in order.

Also will go through some pictures of my Mom and want to take her to visit friends that she hasn't seen in awhile.

Also I plan on cooking more foods that she'll enjoy.

Ak, so sorry to hear your mom is having more lesions again. Will pray for her, and you.

Today I picked the green beans and trimmed them, also the green ones we picked on Saturday. The yellow ones need to be picked yet. My back was protesting so I left them go till later. Its been raining off and on all day.

Did the rest of the laundry. It all went in the dryer. Folded the towels and put them away. The rest is waiting to be folded.

Getting company this weekend. Hubby's brother & his family are coming. We're excited & so are they! And all the children!

My turn to cook supper tonight. Mashed potatoes & gravy, beef heart, & fresh picked green beans!

Hubby and Sonny worked on the 4wheeler and on the one vehicle that needs work.

Discovered our peach tree has white peaches!! We love white peaches! My aunt & uncle had white peach trees and we usually bought our peaches from them for eating and canning. I was thinking of those white peaches longingly... God had another pleasant surprise for us!

So sorry to hear, AK! We know how well she has done thus far and we hope and pray that that continues!!!

She is one tough lady!!

Give it all to God and give your mom all the love and support you can. You have done such a great job of that!!

Went to PT this morning. I kinda messed up my shoulder on Sat morning so she is fixing it. Nothing major, but I lost my balance when getting up that morning and I ran into the door jamb.

So we set up 5 more appointments. Today was supposed to have been my last one. Oh well. It will strengthen it even more.

I didn't do very much this afternoon.

I'm working on my Bible study this evening. I'm almost finished.

See you guys tomorrow!

White peaches, huh??

AK--Your mom is one tough lady. I will be praying for her.

I went to the grocery store this morning. And a friend brought me some vegetables from his garden, so bonus on the food items today!

Did my knee exercises.

Went to eye appointment. Right eye changed slightly from last year but not enough to get new lenses (just got new lenses last year).

Ran into an old friend there at the eye clinic. We used to play softball together over 20 years ago. Had fun chatting with her while I waited for my ride to pick me up.

Off to have my homemade spaghetti sauce over rice pasta, fresh zucchini, and a salad for dinner.

Our internet went down this morning.... and is still down. We connected to the hotspot.

This afternoon the electricity was off for a couple hours.

Blanched the beans and packaged up 10 packs.

Peeled and sliced 5 lbs of carrots to freeze.

Folded more of the wash. Still have a little left to finish up.

Was rainy today and the last few days. Looks like the sun might peek through yet this evening! I'm ready for some sunny days!

Sonny made supper tonight. Salmon, creamed corn and peas & carrots. He will make the homemade tartar sauce or Fish Stuff as its called at our house. Miracle whip, pickle relish and a squirt of ketchup.

Didn't sleep well last night. Up early so ran some errands before taking Mom for her permanent denture reline. She seems happy about them and I hope she can chew better.

Dropped her at home then headed out to Ft. Benning to renew my ID but their website was down and they only have certain days and times that you can walk in.

Gassed up Mom's car and stopped at the dry cleaners for her. Went to their outdoor gun range and got tons of info on procedures.

Then home to make phone calls and scan paperwork to attorney. My Mom's Power of Attorney looks good and will sign my portion next week.

Cooked a kubocha melon for dinner but it was a bit off. We had it with rice and an avocado/tomato salad. Needless to say I'm still hungry.

Thank you all for the support and prayers. It means the world to me.

Mom is scheduled for September 28th for the arterial mapping of her liver which is an invasive procedure. Was hoping it wasn't. After the study they'll call us back in for the radiation embolization.

I'm wiped out and am going to take some powdered Calm Sleep aid. Night everyone!

AK--Hope you can get some rest and keep yourself healthy and strong!

Did my back and balance exercises.

Went to a picnic with some of the women from Bible study. We each bring our own lunch and just sit outside and gab. One more picnic before Bible study starts up again. Sure have enjoyed them.

Getting hotter and humid. Manna, I know you are wishing for sunny days. I am wishing for sunny but cooler days.

I am just relaxing tonight even though I didn't really do a whole lot of strenuous activity today.

Picnic sounds fun .. hope it wasn't too hot, hiker!

AK .. what is kubocha melon?

Took items to our church for our OCC stash. Gotta keep that trunk free for groceries!!

Also had PT on my shoulder at 2:45 .. Fixed filet mignon for supper. It was good! We also had canned asparagus. I had never tried it canned. It wasn't bad!!

Had a bit more sleep for another busy day. Took Mom for a hearing aid check and then she took me to lunch.

After dropping her off at home did some grocery shopping. Back home after putting things away made a pan of cornbread and boiled some squash for a squash cornbread dressing casserole that we're taking as a covered dish to a picnic.

The picnic is Saturday and is a little over 100 miles south of us so I'll be driving again and taking Mom and her BFF.

Large group gathering at a park and they're providing the grilled meats. It's going to be so hot but I'm looking forward to it.

Also watered the plants outside and my little moon flower.

TuTu your dinner sounds amazing! The kubocha melon is very similar to an acorn squash. Glad you got your trunk space back!

Hiker I see we're on the same page again and this time with picnics. I enjoy eating outdoors too.

See you guys tomorrow!

AK--The picnic sounds fun!

Tutu--It has been ages since I have had filet mignon. Sounds wonderful!

I took 1/2 pill of an antihistamine before bed and while it did help my sinuses I felt like a zombie this morning.

I did my knee exercises.

Made a meatloaf and will eat some for dinner tonight rather than gluten free pizza.

Watered plants outside and deadheaded my marigolds, petunias etc. Hot and humid.

Called mom. Also talked to a good friend who always cheers me up.

Went to Farm and Fleet this afternoon to get a new rubber welcome mat for the front porch. Also bought a new digital oral thermometer. Tried it out and compared it to the one I have. The one I have is a full degree higher than the new one. Hmm.

Sadly Doritos grabbed onto me a the store and wouldn't let go. So, I may munch on a few tonight while I read or watch TV. I always say I will only eat a few, but then the bag full has disappeared. [bonk]

Hey, everyone. I'm here.

Off to bed in a minute.

I did my exercise today at c.rehab. 9 min on the NuStep and 4 on the ergometer bike.

MUSCLES. LOL.

Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :

AK-Hope you enjoyed the picnic. Bet you are tired after the long drive and heat.

Tutu-way to build those muscles!

Manna—how are you?

I did a load of laundry. Also did balance exercises and back exercises.

Weeded a wee bit and then took a nap.

Vacuumed under the couch cushions. Sheesh. You can tell I snack while sitting on the couch. Lol

Rained some but was hoping for more.

Just relaxing tonight.

We are fine. Enjoying a weekend that is flying by WAY too fast. Hubby's brother & family are visiting. We've all been looking forward to this weekend.

The boys and their cousins are having fun riding the 4wheelers on the trails in the woods.

Picked peaches today. Was disappointed by how many had rotted from all the rain the past 2 weeks.

Planted some berry bushes they brought along for us and found another yellow jacket nest! Its just awful how many we are finding. Another nest was found on Friday when our oldest son mowed over it. At least nobody got stung finding these last two nests.

My beans are starting to bloom again, so in a week or so we can start picking again.

We had fun at the picnic. We ate indoors at a clubhouse since it was too hot to enjoy a meal outdoors.

I'm chilling watching a movie and will go to bed soon.

Hiker talking with friends always brightens my day too! Your battle with Doritos sounds eerily similar to my potato chip addiction. LOL! I try not to buy any because when I do I seem to turn into a vacuum!

TuTu you are a workout machine! I've been battling issues with vertigo. I thought I was dizzy but it got so much worse, especially when lying down. So Google to the rescue and I've been doing the Epley maneuver for BPPV and I'm a bit better today. Hoping to exercise soon.

Manna I hope you all enjoy time with your family. BTW, my poor little raised bed garden has only produced one cucumber so far. I think it's from all the rain. I've only had to water the yard once this year.

See you all tomorrow!
