Just ranting. This is something everyone can relate to whether chronically ill or not but I believe it hits us in this community much harder for obvious reasons.

Everything is going up, gas groceries, so many other things. Is it still from the effects of the pandemic? This is insane.

How do ppl do this when chronically ill when alot of our treatment/testing/supplements is out of pocket?

They tell you to eat healthy, choose organic as much as possible. I have MCAS and need to go on a antihistamine diet.

I'm trying to figure out quick and easy meal preps to take to work with me. I usually buy lunch at work and sometimes breakfast ( lots of healthy options in our hospital cafe).

Trying to be more cautious with money and see what I can prepare at home that helps with MCAS. My LLMD says food must be fresh as possible with limited time in a fridge ( leftovers esp proteins)

You are so right that the rising cost of living is a problem for many.

I attached a link and if you scroll down it talks about some foods you can eat. Sounds like you can cook meat and freeze it to avoid Histamine buildup. Maybe make some meals in advance and freeze in single serve containers to take for lunch?

Eggs, salads might be available in your hospital cafe. You could bake a sweet potato in the microwave if one is available at work.

I know you don’t like to journal but keeping a list of what foods you react to and what foods you tolerate well is important if you have MCAS.

Not all MCAS patients are the same.
