Welcome to the exercise thread! Are you ready for another week of movement? [woohoo]

Here we encourage each other to get out and exercise. It might be walking, swimming, gardening, washing windows etc. Anything counts!

So, tell us about your exercise or just tell us about your day.

Have a super week! [hi]

I watched the National Cathedral Church service this morning.

I warmed up on the exercise bike for 5 minutes and then did my knee exercises and feet exercises. Also, I did my shoulder exercises.

Talked to my mom for quite a while.

Took this week's recycling to the bins at the grocery store.

Made some chicken salad.

Am reading a good mystery thriller by Catherine Coulter called Reckoning.

Plan to read after dinner and maybe watch some mindless TV. [Big Grin]

Thanks Hiker for getting us started this week!

I'm still doing PT for me and Mom. Working on my shoulder and SI joint. Really getting some pain relief with the shoulder therapy after almost 20 years. Go figure!

Josh came for dinner so I made roasted wings, small mixed potatoes, brocolli and a salad.

Sinuses are still bothering me and hoping they'll drain more.

Ready to read and call it a night.

Well my weekend was the BEST!

With the still circulating covid virus, all activities were outside. Absolutely no worries. The chronically Ill still have to take precautions!

Pool got a serious workout. A 6 year old boy said he had to get out of the pool to use the bathroom! WHAT A GOOD BOY, lol.

After many years, I finally slept through an entire night without waking! HUGE! I attribute this to physical exercise, God’s Beautiful Planet, healthy foods, beautiful family and friends, good positive conversation and a feeling of being at peace. 🌏

ak- I have used used every OTC and prescription meds for chronic sinusitis but the only thing that really drains my sinuses is Hall’s metho-lyptus lozenges.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer. 🌞

BB--Glad you had a great weekend.

AK--Sinus issues are so hard to get rid of.

I started my day at the dentist. So glad I have good teeth and a cleaning was all that was required. My hygienist is a perfectionist, and I was in that chair for almost an hour.

Rode the exercise bike 10 minutes and did my balance and feet exercises.

Talked to mom for quite some time.

Worked on Bible study.

Took a short nap to make up for the early dental appointment. [Big Grin]

Took the garbage to the curb.

Now am getting ready to grill hamburgers. One for tonight and will save one for tomorrow night. Cooking for one is sometimes a pain.

Baking day.

Did 2 loads of wash.

Carried a stack of cardboard boxes down to my asparagus patch. Got two boxes laid down when it started to rain. Laid one more box then picked one up to use as an umbrella to come back up to the house.

Hubby killed a snake that was caught in the garden fence.

He also scraped the stones off the road back on to our driveway. Lots of rain overnight has water overflowing the pond. The streams are rushing full of water. Had to clear debris out of the culverts so its not running through the sawmill area or the garden. Directed the water into the creek.

Manna, I was reading a article and saw a picture where a big black snake was killing a copperhead. I think Tutu mentioned a big black snake near her place that people were avoiding.

What kind of snake did your husband kill?

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :

Rat snakes will kill other snakes, as will king snakes. The one I saw was a coachwhip. I haven't heard anyone talking about him/her lately!

I've seen a video of a king snake killing a rattlesnake. YIKES!!! Thank you, king snake!!

AK .. a good therapist can do wonders!!

Bonnie .. yes, GOOD BOY! LOL

hiker .. I forgot (or didn't know) that you were growing asparagus. I grew broccoli once.

I think I need to get to bed soon. I went shopping this morning with my friend and her 12 year old daughter. It's our 4th year to do this, so now it's a tradition.

After that, we ate out and then C drove me to my sleep doctor appointment, which didn't take long.

Then we drove back to the place where we had eaten lunch. They have an indoor putt putt right next to the restaurant.

We played two rounds. Thankfully, the 12 year old picked up the balls for us. Whew!! About 5 years ago, C and I played there with another friend. All three of us basically unable to pick up the balls all day long! lol

So we decided that if we ever did that again, we would take S so she could pick up the balls for us. This place is rather unique being indoors, but also because about every 20 minutes, they have fake thunder and lightning going on. [Big Grin]

Anyway, I am exhausted and also have asthma. I think I got it from the putt putt. They have water features in there and it smelled moldy to me

Tomorrow I go to exercise, get a haircut, then go see my friend in the nearby town. I'll be tired for sure!

Nite nite!

It was a copperhead snake. Second one we got rid of. Hope that was Mr & Mrs! Twice I've seen snake skins near the mailbox.

I sure used to keep my eyes peeled when I was hiking in your neck of the woods and a lot of other places. Seen too many poisonous snakes in my life.

Tutu--I don't grow asparagus. I haven't had a vegetable garden in 4 years. Your outing with C & S sounds fun. Haven't played putt putt in years.

I see that some schools in your state (and a few other states) are going to a 4 day week. Not good for learning.

Rode the exercise bike to warm up for my knee exercises. So, then did the knee exercises, feet exercises and shoulder exercises.

Went to the bank. Find if I pay for groceries with cash and leave the credit card home I won't spend as much. lol

Stopped at the library on the way home from the bank.

Spent most of the afternoon reading. Just finished a book about the first recorded rape trial in Colonial History (called The Sewing Girl's Tale). Very sad, but interesting. Will read something a bit lighter next!

Leftovers for dinner.

Handyman came over to hang outdoor roll up blind on the front porch bright and early at 7:45. Looks great!

Sat with Mrs H today and it went well but she fell over the weekend and hit her head and has a horrible facial bruise and swelling.

Glad we can keep each other company.

I'm getting better and still have a few more days of antibiotics.

Hiker I'm getting my teeth cleaned tomorrow. Seems like we're on the same page again.

BB what an amazing weekend you had! I'm going to pick up some Halls tomorrow.

Manna snakes are one of the things I don't miss when I lived in the country. I ran over a couple baby ones cutting grass.

TuTu always fun to shop and eat lunch out! Putt putt sounds very fun!

Time to veg! See everyone tomorrow!

Have my favorite person on the planet staying with me for the week. House is a bit discombobulated with suitcases, shoes, electronics, etc, but who cares?

Friend came over this morning for coffee and chit chat on porch.

Favorite person and me took a drive out to the country with rows of corn fields, pumpkins, sunflowers and small farms, so pretty.

Had to take princess cat to vet for allergies. Vets are expensive.

Walked the dog.
Gave dog a bath as she was overheated.
She slept for 2 hours afterwards because she was so much more comfortable.

Went to town concert yesterday but no one was there?
Apparently the weather called for rain so the park cancelled the bands, but there was not a cloud in the sky. So mad at weatherman!

Concert rescheduled for today, last concert of the season.
I unfortunately cannot physically muster up the energy to go, WAHHHHH. So bummed! It is the best of the whole summer lineup.

Went into pool to cool off. Did not exercise but it does take physical exertion just to get in. Felt better.

Made steaks and asparagus on the grill.
Absolutely beautiful day. 🌞

Oh dang, hiker .. It was Manna with the asparagus. Duh me!

Had a busy day again with exercise this morning and then the trip to see Sharon. She wasn't feeling well today. [Frown]

Rested some this evening, then finished my Bible study materials and read the chapter in the book We Will Not Be Silenced.

I need to go to bed soon. Very tired.

OH... I did walk 1/2 mile at exercise today. I will try to start doing that each time I go. I had been walking maybe 1/3 mile.

BB .. the concert thing is so disappointing!

AK .. I hope you continue to improve each day. Glad you got that shade screen up!

NITE!!

Tutu--Way to go on the walking.

Did my balance exercises.

Went for my yearly checkup at the neurologist.

Then went to the grocery store. Need to go back another day as their bananas looked overripe. The ice cream looked just fine. [Big Grin]

Filled all the bird feeders although I need to make some more hummingbird nectar. Finally saw a hummer the other day but haven't seen once since.

Called mom.

Did my feet exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Time to start making dinner. Pork loin and broccoli.

Funny note: A friend’s email was hacked (that isn’t funny) and I got two emails from her account today. One said I was jobless and the other said I was a crack head. Lol. Naturally, I changed my email password.

You guys are doing great with the activities!

Yard guy and wife came out early today to beat the heat so around 8:00.

Snagged some breakfast at BK and brought it home and woke up Mom.

We went to AL about 45 minutes away to my dentist's office. My teeth are nice and clean but I have some gum inflammation this time so need to floss after my night time snacking. Better if I quit snacking...

We shopped at one of my fav grocery stores there and saved quite a bit on groceries. AL prices are cheaper than GA.

Me and Mom were both worn out so in bed by 8:00.

Time to read and get some sleep.

Busy day with canning. Started a batch of 7 Day pickles and another of sweet gherkins. Canned dill slices for on hamburgers and some dill relish. Sonny cut up some of his Inferno peppers and pickled them too.

Also cut up and cooked a dishpan full of tomatoes for V8 juice. 10 quarts setting on the counter along with the pints of pickles. The lids are sealing with a popping sound! The sweet sound of sucess!

Gave the chicks and keets food and water twice today. Put fresh straw in the chicken and guinea pens.

Washed a load of table cloths and one of towels. Sunshine today so they went on the line to dry.

Watered the plants on the front porch.

Hiker .. a crack head, huh? hmmm At least the jobless one was correct!

AK .. Sounds like you had a full day!!

Manna... quit working so hard. LOL.

Yesterday I met a friend at church so she could get some of our dolls for OCC. She's taking them to a friend who will put clothes on the poor things. lol .. They are very small. We have 12 of them.

Then I ran some errands and even got a tax exempt thing for Menard's. (for OCC) I also bought some school supplies there.

Then off to Bible study here at the condos.

I'm headed to exercise very soon. Just had my breakfast.

My brother and his wife from Houston are coming this Monday!! Whoop!!

Yesterday was spent getting all the garbage ( I compost what I can) out of the refrigerator and freezer etc. and all the recyclable paper stuff and containers and packaging - into the bins and to the curb.

Also got all the laundry down the chute - especially from guest rooms - daughter and granddaughter were here over the past two weeks.
Feeling a bit tired after that -we did a lot of activities together.

Daughter and I had a great last day together on Tues. including taking lots of stuff to Good Will, going to three different outdoor markets, (one way out in the country) and stopping for our favorite ice cream - a Dilly bar for me and a Buster bar for her. And eating great corn and lovely peaches with dinner.

In the evening, I took a bag of produce to my neighbors across the street - they both have covid, but are recovering at home.

Lots of laundry to do today! And exercises and a walk.

p.s. We both tested negative for covid before she left. Have been super careful wherever we went.

Manna, I love reading everything you are doing. One question: what are "keets"?

AK--Glad PT is helping your shoulder.

Ann--I love Dilly Bars. Been a long time since I have stopped at Dairy Queen for one.

I had Bible study this morning. We will take a break until sometime in September, so I need to find something to study.

Zipped back to the grocery store to get bananas.

I warmed up on the exercise bike for 5 minutes and then did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises.

Made a meatloaf and decided to freeze the whole thing and eat something else this weekend.

Fixed up some nectar for the hummingbirds and filled that feeder.

Just talked to my BFF who teaches 7th grade science. Totally cracked up when she said a girl, after the lab safety quiz, ate the flowers off one of her plants. They had to call poison control. This is why teachers do not get paid enough! [bonk]

Making a tossed salad tonight with red lettuce and spinach. Topping it with carrots and zucchini and strips of left over pork loin.

Sat with Mrs H today and on the way home picked up Mexican fast food.

I did my PT this morning and helped Mom with hers then and did another round for her this evening.

Already in bed!

Hiker was that kid hungry or what?!

Ann I'm a cornaholic and love fresh produce!

TuTu have fun with your family!

Manna I only have one retractable clothesline and use it mainly for bedding. I love the outdoor smell!

See you all tomorrow!

I did my balance and feet exercises this morning.

Washed the sheets and pillowcases and then remade the bed.

Filled the safflower feeder.

Took the car through the car wash.

Spent time at the prayer garden at our church. So nice out today and the flowers are lovely there.

Went for my eye exam. Thankfully I don't need new lenses. MD said the change was too minor. Hurrah!

It's been almost 4 hours and my eyes are still dilated, so not going anywhere this afternoon or evening.

Have a great night! [Cool]

Ann, keets are baby guineas. We hatched about 30 of them this spring. We have 15 chicks that are getting their feathers and another batch of chicken eggs in the incubator.

Today we sold 4 of the keets. The man said his sister might want some too. I hope she does! We were hoping to sell most of them, maybe keep a few more females.

Today I counted my steps to go down to the garden. 150 to the top of the garden and then another 45 to the other end. So I do get exercise going to the garden. Oh and then carrying baskets/buckets of goodies back up the hill again.

Picked pickles, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow beans and cut zinnias for bouquets.

Made the syrup for both batches of pickles I have started.

Washed several loads and hung them out. After several days of sunshine and no rain in a row..... a thunderstorm came up this afternoon. Had to quick bring my wash in and some had to finish drying in the dryer. I've got half of it folded.

Hubby got the new belt he needed for the sawmill and got more lumber sawed.

Sonny got a part he was waiting for and is working on another dirt bike. He sold the other one to his brother.

Another one of the boys was home sick today. Fever & sore throat. He is feeling better today than he had yesterday.

Saw a hummingbird yesterday and today Daughter saw it. I think we will try to get more plants with flowers that the hummers like. Don't want to put sugar water out as there are too many yellow jackets/wasps/hornets around.

Have company coming tomorrow for a mountain pie supper.

Manna--That is a lot of steps. You definitely get your exercise every day!

Beautiful day here. Watered the flowers, chatted with my neighbor, and cleaned the leaves and grass clippings out of the sewer grate.

Did a load of laundry.

Rode the exercise bike 5 minutes to warm up and then did my knee exercises and feet exercises. Also did my shoulder stretches.

Took some books to the library drop box in the grocery store parking lot. Which meant I went inside the store and bought 2 pints of ice cream on sale. [bonk]

I watched a Beth Moore video.

Now I have the Illini football game on. Can't believe it is already time for college football. It's half time so I think I will start to make dinner.

Shrimp and snow peas is the main course. Probably a tossed salad and some raspberries and I am sure I will open the pint of chocolate fudge ice cream.

Trimmed bushes this morning. Did 2 loads of laundry. Made a brunch of gluten free frozen waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage.

Shopped at Goodwill and another used goods store looking for vintage clothes and other treasures. Alas Goodwill no longer let's you try clothes on to see if they fit. The clerk said I could buy them and return the ones that didn't fit so I put everything back and went to TJ Maxx next door.

Bummer!

Baked a small chicken breast to go on my brocolli salad for dinner. Mom had fish, rice and a lettuce salad.

Hiker I'm envious of your ice cream!

Manna you get tons of exercise! BTW what is Mountain Pie?

Reading time!
