Time for another week of movement.

Join us as we encourage each other to exercise.

Are you going to the gym or physical therapy? Walking? Gardening? Baking? Cleaning? All these and more count!

So, have a great week of movement! [woohoo]

I watched the National Cathedral Church service this morning.

I did a load of laundry and put clean sheets on the bed.

Took my recycling to the bins a few blocks from me and returned some library books.

Called mom.

Then settled in the recliner to read.

Will watch the Bears-Packers game tonight.

Have a great week! [hi]

Went to a birthday party this afternoon.
I stayed 1 hour, trying to conserve my energy levels.

I walked the dog.

Windexed the windows on my front door and mirrors in bathroom.

Sat on porch while talking to a friend on the phone. She asked me what was the noise in the background. I said that’s my rocking chair, lol.

Laid on my exercise ball for 30 minutes, it’s really comfortable.
I read my book while I’m on it.

Watered my plants and filled water bowls for animals.

Made chicken fingers but I burnt them so settled for chicken soup.
Still hungry.

hiker-I’ll be watching the football game as well. The Bears!

Online church today.

Fed and watered the birds twice today.

Took a nap after lunch.

Hiked up the mountain to check on the pear trees. There are pears hanging on the trees!

Watered the plants on the front porch.

Our son called this afternoon. Gabbed with him for a long while. We plan to go to their house for Thanksgiving and they will come to ours for Christmas.

Grilled cheese sandwich for supper. A favorite!

Need to put the recycling out tonight.

We had a whopper of a rainstorm last night. Almost 3.5 inches in about an hour. But nice out today.

I rode the exercise bike to warm up for my knee exercises. Then did the knee exercises, feet exercises, and shoulder stretches.

Talked to my mom.

Recorded Queen Elizabeth's funeral and watched some of it. Wow!

Worked on Bible study.

Talked on the phone with the administrator of another condo association. She said to put an application in but no condos have opened up in the last several years. So, I filled out an application and will drop it off tomorrow. I will be very low on that list, too. [Eek!]

Filled the car with gas.

Went outside and picked up sticks that had blown down in the wind from last night. Then hauled the trash to the curb.

Getting off antihistamines didn't work. Get this guys, me and my Mom are both dizzy and I think it's BPPV.

Hiker you would know, does it run in families? So I started the Epley maneuver on the both of us tonight.

Hope and pray this will work. I'll just add it to the SI joint therapy we both do and my shoulder stuff.

BTW, was referred by my attorney to a great young estate planning attorney. We're getting our financial ducks in a row before heading to the Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta for our first chat with an oncologist.

He relieved a whole lot of anxiety for me by answering questions about the will, POA and health directive my Mom already has. We're just going to add me to the deed and all should be OK.

Whew....thanks Hiker for all the advice!

Going to try and sit with Ms H tomorrow. Fingers and toes crossed!

Bye guys!

AK—Maybe get a referral for your mom to an audiologist or physical therapist who is trained in the Epley maneuver. No offense, but a professional should diagnose and work on your mom or it can get worse.

My mom had BPPV once years ago but not since then. It is more common in the elderly (meaning your mom, not you).

Also, have you checked carbon monoxide levels in your home? Small amounts can make you dizzy.

So can blood pressure meds if you or your mom take any.

Good luck!

Town didn't pick up my landscape waste, so I hauled the can back to the garage.

Did my balance and feet exercises.

Made gluten free muffins and froze them. Will take them to mom at the end of the week.

Worked on Bible study and listened to the National Cathedral morning prayer service (daily habit)

Went to the library and grabbed two books.

Did odds and ends around the house.

Lay down to take a 20 minute power nap and woke up an hour later.

Am cooking a chicken breast and having it with steamed broccoli and tossed salad tonight.

It was 93 today so I decided to skip the yardwork. By Thursday the high will only be in the low 60's, so it will feel like autumn then.

Good advice Hiker! We're both are on different BP meds. I'll check around for someone to perform the Epley maneuver.

Been having pain and pressure in my head and sinuses. Ice seems to help. Reminds me of my Lyme days when I had a lot of pain and pressure in my head.

Sat with Ms H today and we both had a good day.

My head is starting to hurt so time for an ice pack.

See you guys tomorrow!

Ak--Someone posted in Medical about experiences with Covid and how they now have Lyme like symptoms. You might see what they had to say.

Went grocery shopping this morning.

Did my knee and feet exercises.

Ended up yakking on the phone a lot. First with an intown friend, then with my mom and then with my brother.

Filled the safflower feeder. About time to take down the hummingbird feeder and clean it up to store until spring.

Humid out, very windy and temps are falling. Will need long pants and a sweatshirt tomorrow.

Pork loin for dinner tonight. Then am watching shows I recorded. New season of shows is starting up.

Hope you all had a great day!

I have been limiting time outdoors.

Accuweather has a health and air quality function that I check everyday. Today was high ragweed and grass pollen. Activities rated poor were fishing, golfing, biking, gardening, etc. Recommended staying indoors and close all windows.

Couldn’t exercise in anyway. High temps and high humidity kept me in my bedroom with ac on using recirculating air. I am sweating as I type this!

Brother was in town and dropped off a used floor freezer that I desperately needed. We cleaned it and it looks brand new. THANK YOU!

Cleaned gas range and racks. I was warming up soup yesterday and forgot about it and burnt my pot and made a huge mess. Cleaned kitchen counter. Cleaned kitchen sinks. Sweat pouring off of me.

Tired of watching tv.

Hey gang!

I don't remember what I did on Monday .. lol.

Tuesday I went to exercise, then went to visit by friend who has cancer. She's the one I taught Sunday School with for many years.

We went to the Mexican food restaurant in her town and of course, it was Taco Tuesday!

So we ate for less than $5 combined. They were really good. I used to visit her on Thursday, so now we will probably do Taco Tuesday each week!

One little problem: I'm gaining more weight!! Hubby wanted to go to a new restaurant tonight. We went at 4 pm and it still took 25 min to get a table. The food was great. 5 lbs gained .. lol.

AK and Mom .. I sure hope the dizziness goes away soon! Yuck!

Hiker, I can't wait for the cooler weather tomorrow!! Sure wish it had also brought rain.

Bonnie .. a "new" freezer! Whoop!

Hey Manna! Busy??

PS .. We had Bible study today. Finished up our extra book and next week we begin the 2 Thessalonians.

Gosh darn it...lost my post!

It was long so the short version is a busy day with PT, shopping and cooking.

Visited with Josh and I'm wiped out.

BP is low so that has me worried. Will check out that post in Medical Hiker.

That's all I can manage. Night all!

AK—it is your blood pressure that is low? That will make you dizzy for sure. Call MD and see about reducing med or changing it. Maybe same thing is happening with your mom.

Tutu-Tuesday tacos sounds wonderful!

BB-I have been known to char some pots on the stove in my time! [bonk]

Did my balance and feet exercises.

Filled the finch feeder with thistle.

Put up a fall decoration on the front door and an autumn mailbox cover.

I have double doors for the front and one always stays locked with thick pins in the floor and the upper door frame. Couldn’t get it open. Started taking latch part apart and got neighbor to help. He took more apart and we still couldn’t get it to work. Then he struggled to get it back together. I finally got the tiny screw to go in.

However, now I need to find someone to fix the door as it is quite handy to open it on cool days and just have the storm door with the screen and also to haul larger items in and out of the house. Plus if I ever move it needs to work.

Called the door companies in town and since they didn’t put in the door they won’t work on it. The guy who put it in moved to Kentucky 2 years ago.

Will ask another neighbor who he might recommend to help and he might be able to fix it himself. Howard and I determined we had to take off a lot more pieces and he was concerned, like Humpty Dumpty, we wouldn’t be able to put it back together. [Eek!]

Drove the hour to mom’s and am spending the night. I plan to watch the Illini football game and I am sure she will have no interest in it. So, I will put it on mute so we can talk and read.

Did 15 minutes of back and neck stretches in my bed this morning then took shower. I started to feel pain in both my hands then pins and needles. Scared me but it went away in about 5 minutes.

Turned on ceiling fan and the chain came out of housing unit.
Called my brother who is in town and he came over to fix it. Long story short, what should have been a 15 minute job, turned into 4 hours and a trip to the hardware store for a new fan.

I was so tired and no appetite. Laid down but couldn’t sleep.

Walked dog.

Vacuumed house and straightened up as my infusion is tomorrow.
I won’t have my regular nurse so I’m hoping who ever I have knows how to poke me once and get the show on the road.

Right now I’m reading the directions on my ac/fan/heater/ion machine. I’ve kept it on the ac function all summer so now’s the time to check out all the other functions.

Hiker hope someone can fix your front door. Have a good time with your Mom!

BB I'm the fan fixer in our house. Ours has a plastic housing that the chain goes into and can be replaced. Some fans don't have that. Hope your brother got the repairable one.

Felt good today until this evening. Same thing yesterday.

And if things were bad enough Mrs H had a nurse come out today to look at a rash on her back and she has Shingles! Now I've been exposed and my Mom. I need to check with my allergist to see if I can get the vaccine. If so me and Mom are heading to our usual place for vaccines. Hope it's not to late.

Time to veg and watch some TV.

Night all!

AK .. If you were exposed to the flu, would you rush out to get a flu vaccine?

I have my doubts that it would rev up in time.

Blessings to you and Mom!

This morning I had a basement contractor come to give me an estimate on dampness. Wow they are expensive. Next week, 2 more estimates and the cheapest will get the job.

Made quick run to grocery store. In and out in 15 minutes, that’s a record.

Then IV nurse came, not my regular nurse.
She started iv immediately, no pain, no problem. Within 15 minutes, my puncture area started scratching and then a huge lump developed. So took it out and re-started on opposite arm. Remember how I hoped I would only get poked once?

1/2 through, bottle of ivig ran dry but neither of us noticed. So had to disconnect, get bubbles out of line and flush with saline. Good nurses are irreplaceable!

Walked dog.
Took out garbage.
Made coffee.

Trying to get up energy to visit my brother. Don’t think that’s gonna happen.

My frig and freezer are full but I can’t make a decision on what I want. Decisions are challenging.

Pizza is easy 🍕

akwlf-I read your post and immediately checked new fan but couldn’t tell if it’s replaceable. So I checked the box and it is. Thank you.

Manna--you okay or just busy?

BB--Home repair is so expensive these days. My neighbor, Russ, told me he would come over next week to look at the door that I have having problems with. He is a retired carpenter, so he may be able to fix it even if I need to order parts. Howard told me the issue and he volunteered. Such great neighbors.

Drove home from my mom's late morning.

Did my bike warm up and then my knee and feet exercises.

Took a short nap. Hard to sleep at mom's since the twin bed is the one from my childhood. Also, she has a small clock in the living room and the alarm on it went off for some unknown reason at midnight. Mom didn't even hear it. lol

Chatted with another neighbor and read a bit.

Rainy and cool here (53 was the high today) and I may actually turn the heat on tonight.

Had pizza tonight, too.

Then decided to take the grill off the fridge and clean the coils. Vacuum extension probably not quite long enough but did the best I could. 30 year old fridge is making rumbling noises. Probably need to start looking for a new one. Bet they don’t make the almond color much anymore to match the other appliances.

I slept in a bit today.

Then did a load of laundry. Am starting to put away summer shorts and t-shirts and get out some long-sleeved shirts.

Did my balance exercises.

Made my usual Saturday baked salmon lunch and watched a recorded Beth Moore Christian show.

Filled the safflower feeder. Went to clean and refill the hummingbird feeder and got stung by a wasp on my right pointer finger in the process.

Hurts like the dickens and swelled up. I have never been stung by a wasp before and was surprised at how painful it is. At least no allergic reaction. Hope the hummers appreciate my sacrifice. [Big Grin]

Dug up 3 dead blueberry bushes and then trimmed back 4 spirea bushes.

Did my feet exercises and iced my feet. Of course, I have been icing my stung finger and made a baking soda paste for it. Really helped.

Such a gorgeous day here. Mid70's and sunny. Probably the last day I will be able to wear shorts.

Homemade spaghetti sauce over rice pasta with yellow squash and a tossed salad for dinner. Then will watch a movie or read.

It's been a pretty good day! [Cool]

Whew I've been busy! Yesterday treated yard for ants, trimmed bushes and washed the car. Also met friends later for an outdoor concert.

Today I'm sore but no time to chill. Sunday dinner has changed to Saturday dinner so I made homemade mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, country fried steak and gravy and a brocolli salad. Josh brought chocolate chip cookies.

We watched a Spanish scary movie on Netflix and didn't have a clue what it was about. We kept asking each other what was going on. LOL!

But we had a lot of fun!

I'm wiped out and am taking a day off tomorrow and hope to stay mainly in bed reading. At least that's my plan.

See you guys tomorrow!

[hi]
