Hard to believe we are into autumn and the last week of September.

But I know we are all doing our best to exercise. [woohoo]

So, come join us as we talk about our exercise and our daily activities.

It might be walking, yardwork, cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. You name it we accept it!

Have a super week! [hi]

Watched our church service. Think I will attend the 4 week Bible study that starts Tuesday at church in addition to the women's group I have on Thursdays.

Did a load of laundry.

Took recycling to the bins at the grocery store.

Went to the public library. Nicholas Sparks has a new book out and I always like his novels.

Talked to my mom. Then went across the street and chatted with my neighbor who was planting mums. She always has beautiful flowers.

I watched the Bears beat the Texas in NFL football. Both teams are pretty awful, though.

Leftover spaghetti for dinner and then will read and watch a Hallmark flick.

Started the day with a 5 minute bike warmup, my knee exercises and feet exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Called mom.

Cleaned the refrigerator--finally!

Went to do a banking errand for mom and the headed to the chiropractor.

Hauled the landscape waste to the curb along with the garbage can.

Grilling brats for dinner!

Sorry I didn't get anything posted last week. We were getting ready for company over the weekend. One of my siblings and family came Friday & Sat. Another sibling came Sat & Sun and brought my parents along. So it was a busy time.

I'd rather not have so many at once so you can spend more time with each one. And then its not all over at once and everyone goes back home.

Today was baking day. 33 loaves of bread. They are ready for the labels and then I'm done. Even have the bread pans washed already. (in the dishwasher)

Gave the birds food & water. Sold the last of the young guineas last Thursday. So the old guineas are in the new guinea house. They are still laying eggs. Collected 5 tonight. Since they are penned up we can collect the eggs. If they are out they hide their nests in the bushes/weeds.

The neighbor found a huge nest at his place. Hubby found one near his scrap wood at the sawmill. But we have no idea how old the eggs are so haven't tried collecting those.

Had leftovers from the weekend for supper. Veggie beef soup, potato salad, pumpkin custard, and pumpkin cake.

Planted cherry seeds and grape seeds this evening. Have a dozen Gala apple trees about 4 inches high. Aso 3 Pink Lady apple trees about 2 inches tall.

Got a few loads washed and two of them folded. Dryer just buzzed.....

That's it Manna I'm inviting myself over for dinner! LOL! Having company always makes for a busy day.

Hiker thanks for getting us started this week. Trash day for me too.

Made soup and sandwiches for brunch then ran to the bank and then pick up 3 gallons of water.

Once home picked up Mom and we went to another smaller thrift mall named Chapmans. Found a beige tunic and a white tank top and Mom found a plaid shirt for Josh, some candles, yarn and kleenex.

We sure enjoyed our outing. Leftovers for dinner and Mom was crocheting away while I watched a movie.

Have PT at 8:30 and sitting with Mrs H tomorrow too. Doing an early dinner with friends. The restaurant has an early dinner special before 5:00 so we're meeting at 4:30.

Time to read and relax.

Night all!

Hi, everyone! Just a quick note before I run off to exercise this morning!

Yesterday, our team of 5 worked for 4 hours to fold 250 shoeboxes. Then we put calendar pics and Bible verses in the lids of about 150 of those.

We will wait to put the soccer balls in until after our church's rummage sale this weekend.

I was supposed to go to an OCC event last night, but I bailed. I was a tad tired, because after all of the box work I ran errands for 1 1/2 hours.

Talked to my cousin for 2 hours in the early evening. LOL.

Have
a great day!

Tutu--Hard to believe it is time already to prepare the OCC boxes. I think it is wonderful that you work on that project.

I did my balance exercises, feet exercises and shoulder stretches.

Cleaned up for the cleaning lady who had to cancel because her car wouldn't start. She said she would come tomorrow with her sister and do an extra deep cleaning for the same price.

Went to Farm and Fleet and bought 25 pounds of safflower seed for the birds.

Wrote a letter to a West Coast friend--my best friend from third grade past college. We still are good friends and write snail mail letters regularly.

Worked on Bible study for Thursday's group and then did some study for tonight's group at church.

So, off to heat up leftovers and make a tossed salad and then go to church.

hiker .. we have so much fun doing it!!

We actually started at least two months ago....I buy items all year. My friend "C" and I bought tons of school supplies a few weeks ago and a team member started on packing the pencil packs once we had most of the supplies.

Our packing party is Nov. 5, so we are well ahead of the game. That way we can enjoy it more and not feel the pressure.

By the way, anyone can pack a shoebox ONLINE on the Operation Christmas Child website. These boxes will go to countries where the Gospel is not usually welcome.

OCC can control what goes into the boxes this way. You are offered certain items and no items will go that perhaps one country would not allow.

(for example, a Barbie doll that is scantily clothed)

I'll bring the link here.

This morning the dogs started barking.... discovered the neighbors untrained horse and donkey were in our front yard. The dog was barking and trying to chase them. The donkey was turning and kicking at her with both back feet. So we put both dogs in the house.

Hubby took the 4 wheeler and chased them back the way they came. They had to go the scenic route around the pond, but at least they headed for home!

Hubby worked at some finishing touches on the guinea house.

I dug two rows of sweet potatoes. The first one was eaten off the most often by the deer, so there weren't many big ones. Only 5 in the basket. But the second row had a lot of big ones. I started digging the next 2 rows that were planted later. No big ones so we'll just wait a few weeks or until frost.

Took a nap this afternoon.

Hung the table cloths out on the line to dry.

Made Haystacks for supper. Layer on your plate: Mashed potatoes, ground beef, baked beans, lettuce, grated carrots, diced tomatoes, peppers, onions, and top with cheese sauce.

Ak, come on over for a meal! We'd be glad to have you!

Been staying at home and trying my best to get out of the September fog. All head issues with barometric changes.

Dirty clothes were pilling up so I did 2 loads of laundry.

I forgot to take garbage bins to the road but the garbage men walked to the side of the house and emptied them and then put them back. I tip my guys because they do such a great job.

My garden neighbor had surgery yesterday and he’s home now.
I made him eggplant parmigiana with angel hair pasta. Told him to call me if he needs anything,

I had to go grocery shopping. Took me twice as long as usual.

Stopped at library to drop off books.

Took dog for walk.

Stayed in bed with the animals and watched movies.
They know when I’m struggling and are so lovey dovey.

Tomorrow I got to get to the bills piling up on my counter, ugh.

PT this morning followed by a fast food breakfast for me and Mom then sat with Mrs H from 11-4.

2 of the ladies bailed on the early dinner tonight so it was just me and one of Mrs H's daughter. We still had a good time and will probably go again.

BB you're a good neighbor! Can't believe your garbage guys go the extra mile. Our city uses convicts.

TuTu thanks for posting the OCC link. Always love to hear about your special outreach program.

Manna my old church would have haystack potlucks. Everyone signed up for what they'd bring. I always enjoyed it.

Hiker you're a Bible study machine! Hey, studying should count as exercise!

Off to read! Night all!

AK--Last time I drove down your way I saw prison convicts working on the side of the road. I wish my state would do that.

BB--I hear ya on the barometric changes. Kills my eustachian tubes.

Went grocery shopping this morning.

Rode the exercise bike, did my knee and feet exercises.

Talked to mom. She isn't getting her groceries on time and isn't getting everything on the list. I called the agency that gets her groceries, and we had a "polite talk." I will probably start looking for a different agency to grocery shop for mom but changing anything is hard on my mom.

Took a nap this afternoon.

Chicken salad for dinner tonight.

Kept an eye on the news since my niece lives in Tampa FL.

Got my haircut and picked up a couple items at the grocery store.

Home to make soup and sandwiches then made phone calls to deal with AC and sump pump loan.

Took the hummingbird feeders down and soaked them in super hot water with concrobium since they have a bit of mold. Scrubbed them and letting them dry before I store them for the winter.

Cut Mom's hair and made a dinner of stir-fried chicken, soy noodles, edamame, carrots, garlic, onion and soy sauce.

Oh did PT for me and Mom this morning and her evening PT just awhile ago.

Now it's time to veg and maybe download another book to read.

Night everyone!

We are on track again, AK. Getting my haircut tomorrow.

Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :

AK--I still have hummingbirds. Surprised you don't, as well.

I did my balance exercises, feet exercises, and shoulder stretches.

Had Bible study this morning. Our leader thinks her leukemia is worse. Bone marrow biopsy Monday as her white count is super high. Prayers, please. Mds believe Covid made her take a turn for the worse.

Went to the bank and the library.

Read a bit and took a short nap in my recliner.

Watered the flowers outside. The asters are blooming and attract so many butterflies.

Had doc appointment this morning, took Paratransit bus. Was feeling poorly but everything went fine until the bus ride home. 2 1/2 hours of torture, back screaming in pain.

There was a tractor trailer accident that finally cleared then we dropped off another patient on a side street but 2 men were fighting in the middle of the street and refused to let any traffic through. Crazy and scary.

Took 30 minute hot shower to release the stress and pain.
It hurt so bad I was crying. Much better now.

Threw 2 steaks on the grill, one for me and one for neighbor. Paired it with baked potatoes and peas. Walked the dog to neighbor’s.

Finally sat on porch rocking chair. YES.
When I came inside I layed on exercise ball.

Wrote out 2 checks for bills and answered 2 e-mails.

Already in bed. Today was rough.

BB hope you weathered the storm OK and glad you're feeling better.

Hiker we haven't had any hummers for about a week. I still see butterflies. Praying for your Bible study leader. Covid affected my mast cells something fierce.

TuTu we're on the same haircutting schedule I think. LOL!

PT this morning for me and Mom and then again in the evening for her. Also at night I rub Diclofenac on her SI joint and back.

Sat with Mrs H today and did therapy with her too! LOL! We had a good day and sat outside enjoying the fresh air.

I picked up Mexican fast food on the way home so had an early dinner. Mom is having second dinner now because she didn't eat much earlier.

Now it's time to veg! Yay!

See you all tomorrow!
