Jewish General Hospital opens long-COVID and Lyme disease clinic
A Statistics Canada study found 1.4 million Canadians reported having lingering symptoms of COVID-19 three months after infection.
Quebec announced in May it would open 15 clinics specializing in long COVID and Lyme disease, including five referral centres and 10 satellite clinics.
The clinic will also offer care to those with Lyme disease whose symptoms persist after standard treatment has ended.
Since 2011, there has been a significant increase in the number of Lyme disease cases reported to the public health authorities in Quebec,
as well as an increase in the proportion of cases that acquired the infection in the province, Quebec’s Health Ministry reported.
