Welcome to the exercise thread on this Super Bowl Sunday. [woohoo]

Let’s keep encouraging each other to get out and exercise.

That might include going to the gym, walking, grocery shopping, vacuuming, etc.

So, tell us about your movement or just tell us about your day.

Have a super week! [hi]

Thanks Hiker for getting us moving this week.

Me and Mom sticking with our PT 2 times a day. One a day for my shoulder.

I'm getting more range of motion in my shoulder and am thrilled!

Mom's in her bed and not eating too much the past couple days so I'm worried.

Hiker glad you noticed the pan in time and staved off a disaster.

I'm a couch potato today.

Watched my church’s service. Substitute pastor had a moving sermon.

Did a load of laundry.

Rode the exercise bike 32 minutes.

Went to recycling bins at grocery.

Then went to library to return 4 books and check out 4 more.

Chatted with my mom. Then talked with my brother who was making a big pot of chili for his Super Bowl party.

Wrote a letter to my aunt in Idaho. She is 98 and still lives in her house with her dog. Amazing.

Then I watched the birds at the feeders while sipping hot chocolate. The downy woodpecker chowed down on the suet cakes big time. Must taste like chocolate to him. [Wink]

Will probably watch the Super Bowl although I don’t really care who wins. No Super Bowl snacks, though.

Spaghetti sauce over rice pasta with green beans and a tossed salad is planned for my dinner. I will not scorch any pans like I did yesterday. [Big Grin]

AK .. Praying for you and your sweet mom!

hiker .. glad you saved your pan and your house. lol.

Watching the Super Bowl. I'm supporting the Chiefs, but I don't really care. My team is the lowly Texans. [Big Grin]

I'm retraining myself to WATCH THE COMMERCIALS! I usually ignore and/or MUTE every commercial.

We had a nice number of people at our services today. Two people came from about 4 hours away because they knew one our our former Pastors.

He's in heaven now, but they wanted to find his church here. A few of us do remember him. He was the Pastor here when we first arrived. He was here from 1989-1998.

She used to be an organist, so she and my husband had a fun chat after church.

HA! Just saw The Undertaker on a commercial. He went to the same high school I did. He must be a good guy! [Wink]

I'm OFF .. have a great evening!!

If I was watching the Superbowl I'd be rooting for the Chiefs!!!

Tutu—the Super Bowl ended up being a good game.

I warmed up on the exercise bike for 5 minutes and then did my knee and feet exercises.

Did my daily Bible devotion and listened to National Cathedral morning prayer like I usually do on weekdays.

Made chicken salad for lunch.

Chatted with mom.

Rode the exercise bike another 25 minutes.

Filled the suet feeder and safflower feeder. Then walked around the yard picking up wind blown garbage.

Gorgeous day out with sunshine and in the 50’s.

Took the garbage bin to the curb.

Boiled a couple of bratwursts and will broil one for dinner tonight and one for tomorrow night. Finishing up the green beans and making a spinach salad with carrots and blackberries added.

I am reading the latest J.D. Robb novel. It is part of a series set in the future and is about a woman cop. Ironically the series started years ago in 1995 before smart phones and AI and those are featured in the series by different names (a smart phone is called a link).

I like novels with strong women protagonists.

Have a good evening. 🌇

Oh darn, it’s garbage day.
Gotta get dressed and go outside. . . .
Thank Hiker.

Baking day. 31 loaves of bread.

Did a few loads of laundry. Sonny needs a clean shirt for work tomorrow.

Got 14 eggs today.

Texted with my sis a little.

Texted with a neighbor this afternoon.

Had questions about our taxes, so Hubby called the accountant's office and got the answers.

Supper was cabbage soup and fresh homemade bread with butter and honey. For dessert cherry cobbler and ice cream.

Well so much for the gym. My Mom's schedule has me off but she is napping in the afternoon a bit so the new plan is to break out my tried and true 90's Buns of Steel DVDs.

Ran a couple errands and then went shopping this afternoon. Penneys had a good sale so picked up another pair of jeans, a hoodie, t-shirt and a distressed denim jacket.

Today was Josh's birthday so we had an amazing Mexican dinner at his fav restaurant and a small black forest bar cake, banana split ice cream and presents at the house.

I can't believe he's 42!

Mom is still not doing so great but she did go out with us and ate a bit.

I picked up trash in the yard too and hauled garbage to the curb. 2 rounds of SI PT for me and Mom and 1 shoulder PT for me. Also I'm stretching out my trigger thumb off and on throughout the day.

Time to unwind!

Happy Valentines Day! 🧡

AK—Praying your mom will have less pain and more energy.

Manna—I hate doing taxes. Still waiting on a few forms to finish mine.

I did my balance and feet exercises as well as my shoulder stretches. Got out the rope pulleys that go over to the door for shoulder warm up and range of motion. Haven’t used those in a long time.

Rode the exercise bike 18 minutes.

Watched the birds at the feeders and in my crabapple tree for a long time. Bird bonanza. Had 7 robins in the tree at once and one kept chasing the cardinal. Haven’t seen a robin all winter although some usually stick around.

I went to the Humane Society to look at a few cats. There was a cute declawed calico. They could only guarantee they would hold her until the end of the day.

By the time I make up my mind and get cat supplies she will be adopted. I prefer an older cat that has been declawed and there aren’t many of those. The humane society makes you sign a contract that you want declaw a cat that has claws and you won’t let them go outside.

I loved having a cat years ago but I keep trying to downsize and some of the condos I have looked at don’t allow pets. (Mennonite Condos won’t allow them which seems odd to me).

Rainy and very windy today. So, I just didn’t feel like going shopping for all the items I would need for a cat. Guess that tells me I am not committed.

Leftovers for dinner and probably read and watch some TV.

Got to my weekly Urologist appointment early this morning.
When Dr Antonio Banderas walked in I said “ Hey Doctor, do you know what you can get me for Valentine’s Day. An ultrasound.”
I explained my 3 rd upper right torso very painful attack.

He smiled and said done.
So I got an in-office 45 minute ultrasound of both kidneys, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. They found a cyst in bile duct connecting liver to gallbladder?

Anyway, afterwards the nurse was busy so the DOCTOR gave me my urethra installation. It is a Valentine’s Day I will never forget!

Stopped on my way home to pay a few bills and of coarse coffees to go.

My neighbor called to say her father had passed.
She is really having a rough time with life’s curveballs. I walked over to her house and dropped off some carrot cake.

Relaxed in recliner watching the Murdaugh trial. This trial can really affect one’s mental health.
Grabbed the resistance bands and did 2 sets of 50 stretches on each leg then did arms. Then I laid on the floor to stretch my back.

Walked dog.
Brushed cats.

Vacuumed laundry room.

Hiker- definitely get a purdy cat although my cats drove me crazy today, wanting to eat every hour. I guess they were watching me, lol.

akinwlf- hope your Mom feels better. The beginning of treatment is always the hardest. Take care of yourself.

Making tea.
Need a funny movie tonight!

A cat sounds like a good plan, hiker! but then there's the condos. sigh.

AK Tell Josh happy birthday for me!

bonnie.. so what's the plan on the cyst? I had a stone in my bile duct years ago. Not fun.

Manna .. Bread! That's your deal!!

My hubby brought me a dozen red roses yesterday. They are beautiful and very much appreciated. So I fixed him a steak dinner tonight. They turned out pretty good!!

I need to get my Bible study done ASAP! So .. see ya till tomorrow!!

Hope everyone had a good day!

So, I decided to get the cat. Pick her up at 3 PM tomorrow.

Spent the night ordering supplies online at a local store and pick them up tomorrow.

Then went and tried to cat proof my house.

Happy Valentine's day everyone!!!

2 rounds of SI PT for me and Mom and one shoulder round for me.

Smoothies for a late breakfast and went to my cancer support meeting.

Afterwards saw the doc for my thumb and she thinks it's trigger thumb too so was told to continue with the splint and RX strength Ibuprofen and she's adding 5 days of prednisone.

From there went to the mall to return something and then to pick up my RX which wasn't authorized yet. Shopped for a few groceries then home to relax.

Leftovers from last night on top of a salad.

Hiker yay on the kitty!

BB had me laughing again! You can live off the memory of that doc appointment for years if not forever! 😂

TuTu thanks for the bday wishes for Josh!

Time for some shut eye.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hubby gave me a bag of Ghirardelli chocolates! Said he will eat the ones I don't like! lol

Worked at filling out our seed order. Several of us have things we want to order...

Daughter planned a nice Valentine meal. Hamloaf with pineapple topping and she took a heart shaped cookie cutter and made hearts over the top.Mashed potatoes, peas, salad eggs, pickles and for dessert, cupcakes with pink frosting and sprinkles.

After supper the boys and Hubby helped clip the chickens wings so they can't fly over the fence. Hopefully we got them all. The one kind of chicken was especially vocal and yelled the whole time we were holding them.

Had 17 eggs today!

Tonight worked at taking apart the dresses to make them into little girls dresses. Have 10 taken apart.

What will you name your cat, Hiker? So relaxing to have a nice cat purring on your lap.

Very busy day. I went grocery shopping this morning.

Then went to get cat supplies at a pet store. Had to go back because we forgot to load the litter.

Once home I got everything in place for my new cat.

Called mom.

Went and got a haircut.

Then zipped to a friend who had extra cat supplies for me. So nice of her to give me an extra kitty bed, brush, etc.

Then to Humane Society to adopt the cat. I am calling her Zephyr which means “gentle breeze.”

I introduced her to the basement where her litter box and food and water are and haven’t seen her since. She is a 3 years old calico but only only 6.5 pounds so she can fit in a lot of nooks and crannies. Hope she reappears at some point to be a lap cat.

Called the vet to get her in for a wellness check. Need to get some flea/tick drops soon for her, too. But she will be an indoor cat.

Anyway, I am totally exhausted.

Woke up and felt like a bus hit me.

Maybe I did too much yesterday?
Maybe ultrasound made the critters in my organ’s scatter?
I tested positive for a UT infection and was prescribed an antibiotic

Took 2 hot showers for pain relief and fed the animals and let the dog out but other than that, I laid in bed.

hiker-LOVE kitty’s name. She is small for 3 years old. My female princess is 9lbs and Phil Collins is a BIG boy at 15lbs.

LymeToo- I have no plan. I called primary this morning for a plan but they hadn’t received the ultrasound report. Tomorrow should know more. Appreciate any guidance.

I remember the good ole days when physical ailments were gone in the morning.

Sent off the seed order.

Sent a birthday gift to my sister.

Planted celery, parsley and bunching onions in milk jug mini greenhouses.

Took the lemon tree out and washed each leaf and branch in soapy water. It was getting sticky from scale.

Spent 2 hours out on the hills moving the chicken fence to a new area. Hubby came and helped me or I'd have been out there till dark!

18 eggs today! I can soon start making eggy things again.

Need to go shut the chickens door to the pasture.

Daughter was mad at one of the kids today. Said it went up the guinea ramp and jumped down into the guinea pen. It can't get out from the inside, unless you open the people door. This evening the kid did it again!

Well, I'm going to go work at taking more dresses apart this evening.

Gotta mix up the sourdough bread dough before bed tonight. It rises all night.

Hope your cat soon feels at home and comes out to purr.

PT the same as yesterday. Smoothies for late breakfast and I had junk for lunch (a slice of pizza, chips and cookies) and my Mom skipped lunch. Salad for dinner and Mom had a bit of the dinner she made for herself.

Me and Mom both tired today for some reason.

Manna those pineapple heart cutouts sound cute!

BB hope you feel better soon.

Hiker so happy you have a pet!

Managed one load of laundry and thought about vacuuming the car and the house but watched a movie instead.

Did talk with my AK and MN besties today so that was a real treat.

Well it's getting late so probably need to get some rest. Night gang!

[hi]

I'll come back later .. Manna .. what kind of dresses are you taking apart? I'm curious since we are making dresses for OCC.

Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :

Hard texting with just one thumb!

Vacuumed house, cleaned 2 air purifiers and changed those filters and the one for the house.

Same PT so far and smoothies. Lunch was canned soup, which Mom ate half and I added a sandwich with mine.

Cleaned Mom's room and waiting on a friend's son to pick up a shelf cd, radio and speakers combo. It's one I bought her but she doesn't use it so it's going to a new home.

Still have errands to run, gas up car and drop off soup to Josh who's under the weather.

Taking Mom to Atlanta for an infusion and we're leaving bright and early at 6:30.

Taking a much needed break right now.

Chat later friends!

Lymetoo, its ladies dresses. Most of this batch is from my cousin, sis-in-law,and some from one of her friends, and from my husband's niece. Its ones that are still nice, but they either out grew them or they just got tired of them.

I take them apart at the waist and cut the bodice side seam open and take out the sleeve. Then I lay the little girls pattern on the big dress. I lay the skirt pattern so the bottom is already hemmed and usually use the whole skirt as is, putting in pleats or gathers to fit the bodice.

The bodice front is taken from the front, the back out of the back and the sleeves from the sleeve. Again I try to use the hemmed bottom of the sleeve so no extra sewing there. Usually I let the sleeve seam in, so only need to put gathers in the top and put the sleeve back in.

I have sizes 3 - 8. Start with the bodice to see which size fits.

Women’s share and prayer group this morning.

Did my balance exercises and shoulder stretches.

Rode the exercise bike for 10 minutes.

Wrote a card to a friend who is ill.

Cat stayed hidden and silent most of the day. She finally emerged from under the bed in the guest bedroom.

I got out my laser pointer from teaching days and she has fun chasing the red dot on the floor. And now she is trying to help me type this. Zephyr isn’t one to stay still for long once she comes out of hiding.

Leftovers for dinner and may try to read if the cat doesn’t climb all over the book.

Great sewing tips Manna!

Zephyr seems to be getting settled in.

We just finished our last round of SI PT and I made stir-fried noodles with the leftover pork I had at the restaurant a couple days ago.

Mom actually ate so that made me happy.

Going to turn in early so see everyone tomorrow!

Hiker .. I predict there will be many days of kitty fun in your future!!

I wish we could tolerate cats. Neither one of us can, but we love them. Dogs are better, but harder to manage.

I went to exercise this morning and was tired most of the time. I did manage to do an adequate amount of exercising.

Then went to WM and Aldi for a few items. Got home and got some food for us, then down for a nap!!

We had tuna fish for supper, and since I found some great looking corn on the cob at Aldi, we ate those. They were delicious!

Now I'm washing clothes. lol.

AK .. Safe travels, please!!!

Baking day, the usual 30 loaves of bread.

Hubby and some of the children went shopping this morning.

Put a load of table cloths in the washer.

Ran several loads through the dishwasher. Lots of extra dishes on baking day.

Took apart a whole stack of dresses tonight. Planning to start cutting them out tomorrow.

Want to cut and sew an apron for a birthday gift for a friend. Picked out the fabric this evening. Going to make it reversable, gingham, blue on one side and yellow on the other. Trim it in white.

Give Zephyr a few gentle pats on the head from me. Two of our cats like sitting on the back porch. When I give them a pat on the head as I go by, they will sometimes reach out and snag my coat sleeve! I'm supposed to stop and pet them!

Started with an appointment at the bank.

Last night I realized I was having some allergic type reactions to my new kitty which was odd since I don’t react to my friends’ cats and I have had a cat in the past. But realized I probably couldn’t keep her.

So, i returned some unused cat supplies to the pet store for a refund. Then dropped off some supplies to a friend who had lent them to me until I could get them from Amazon (tomorrow).

I made the decision to return my new cat friend to the Humane Society along with the litter and cat food I had opened. Now my house feels so empty. [Frown]

Did a lot of cleaning when I got home and shed a few tears as I cleaned.

Rode the exercise bike 10 minutes to meet my 100 minute per week goal.

Did my knee and feet exercises.

Gluten free pizza and salad tonight.

AK—Hope your mom’s appointment went well and you are safely home.

Oh Hiker, so sad to have to give up Zephyr so soon.

Went to take care of the chickens this morning and saw all the water running off the mountain and down through the sawmill. So got the ground shovel and cleared leaves and debris all the way down to the creek.

By the time I came back very little water was going through the sawmill area and most of it was running in the little stream where its supposed to be.

Temps dropped today and had a few flurries.

Did laundry, got half of it folded and put away.

Finished cutting up the few dresses I didn't get done last night.

Cut out the apron for my friend. Now I need to rethread the overlock sewing machine so I can sew it. That is a job I don't enjoy much!

Got 21 eggs today! Think I'll make an angelfood cake and maybe some homemade noodles!

We're home safe and sound. Mom did OK with her infusion but she was vomiting when we got there and they almost didn't want to see her at the lab.

She's been nauseous for 2 weeks and didn't tell me and didn't take her nausea medicine. Also I found out she was in quite a bit of pain every day so her morphine pills were doubled today.

Oncologist stressed I need to manage all her meds from now on and if possible he's willing to work with a closer doc.

I was upset that my Mom didn't tell me how sick she was. The doc wasn't very happy either.

I don't know why she's doing this. Makes everything much harder to figure out. She's lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks! At least now I know why she hasn't been eating.

I'm wiped out but am worried about the doubled morphine. Have to keep a closer eye on my Mom.

Think we all need hugs!

[group hug]

AK—your mom was probably trying to protect you from knowing how bad she felt. Glad you are taking over her meds. I know that some painkillers like anything with codeine or morphine make my mom nauseous. Take with food.

Slept in today.

Did 2 loads of laundry. Wanted to make sure I washed the fleece blanket that is on the recliner the cat walked on.

Vacuumed the living room furniture to make sure all cat hair is vanquished.

Did my balance and feet exercises plus my shoulder stretches.

Got gas in the car.

Filled several bird feeders.

Finished up the taxes and e-filed them. Glad that is done and hope I didn’t make any errors.

Defrosted some homemade spaghetti sauce to have over rice pasta tonight. Will steam some fresh green beans and make a tossed salad.

Probably read and watch some TV tonight.

Hubby and the boys sawed down 2 trees this afternoon. Have a big pile of brush to burn again.

One of the boys went out to pick up the glass in the part of the meadow where we moved the chicen fence. Found lots of old jars/bottles, etc.

Worked at doing laundry.

Put vegetable beef soup in the crockpot for supper.

Made chicken potpie for lunch. Made homemade noodles for it and should have rolled them out thinner!

Started cutting out some little dresses. Want to go work at them again tonight.

Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :

Manna I'm coming to your house the next time you make chicken pot pie! I've got stew beef in the freezer so plan on making beef soup or stew myself.

Tonight I made hamburger helper potatoes stroganoff. I'm packing up the leftovers to take to Josh tomorrow since he's under the weather. I made brussel sprouts to go with them but he's not a fan so I'll eat those.

Hiker I think you're right about my Mom. Getting her to eat is trying lately. Having to give her the nausea med with her morphine. All that aside a friend sent her some yarn so she's crocheting me some hats!

We did all our PT and while Mom was sleeping got a much needed haircut and a few groceries.

My hair is a super short pixie and thankfully requires absolutely no maintenance. Yay!

Hope everyone continues to do well!

Hiker .. I'm so sorry the kitty didn't work out. Had a similar incident my first year of teaching. A student wanted me to take one of her kittens.

So I did and that night my husband sat up in bed struggling to breathe. The cat spent the night in the bathroom and it went back to school the next day.
[Frown] Hubby's had asthma since childhood.

Maybe you could get a small dog later??

AK .. I know you are taking great care of your mom.... JUST REMEMBER THAT!! I hope her latest infusion helps.

Manna .. I agree that chicken pot pie sounds wonderful.

This morning, our new handyman came over and fixed a tub spout. Had to replace it. Then he changed out the shower filters. So I will have smooth skin and hair tomorrow! whoop!

He also got my sewing machine table fixed. I had bought it used online and it was wobbly. He fixed it right up! Got my machine out of my trunk and it's ready to go! (don't expect miracles yet ..lol)

Then hubby and I went to church to practice new songs. I also had to set up communion for tomorrow.

The rest of the day, we just vegged. By the time we got home it was time for supper.

See you guys manana!
