Hi I am Meaning,can person with Lyme disease have actual changes in their own DNA?
Trek and I have done some investigating as to our DNA and Genetics'
Th group we've gone thru does forensic work and somethings have come up, very interesting, and some Of it is totally unexpected.
It is interesting and some is actually fun, but I am wondering about it all. Some parts I have no doubts about but some, I've been told is really rare, really unusual.
Don't know that Lyme boreliosis [sp.] could change actual DNA, but perhaps bring out some more than other?
Maybe or maybe not, any tho'ts from anyone ?

I don't know that Lyme or other diseases can change DNA and Genetics?
But has been really odd, such things as only 3% of X population has this mixed w/ that. The 'That' population doesn't show with mixture such and such, but it does for you!!!
I know of one other person w/ such odd mixtures, And they said they were beginning to wonder,am i really from earth? [ I think it was said rather 'tongue in cheek' but I know the feeling].
Just really curious about all of this, lots my folks didn't tell us, and some they likely didn't know. Of Course with my background even any siblings might have some differences in DNA if it was possible to talk. Okidoki enough of my Jabber .

Hi Silverwolfi, I am Sylvie, a French Lymie friend with Maddog, and a PhD in chemistry. I noticed something which could be an alteration of DNA on me: I used to take L-carnitine as a booster for several years, and noticed it was less and less effective. One day I tried L-acetyl-carnitine, and recovered the effectiveness in boosting that I had previously with L-carnitine. This means that my body can't anymore acetylate correctly L-carnitine. Acetylation is an important process in the body chemistry, particularly for immunity. I don't know how is your immunity, mine is poor. Maybe research exists about this topic, try PubMed!

I don't know that it can actually change the DNA from our Heritage, but I do wonder what it does do.
I have a lot of allergies that I never used to have,after heart surgery. And no my immune systems isn't doing very well either.
