Hi there everyone [Smile]

My daughter and her fiancie are finally going to tie the knot. Because of their carrier in the military they can't really make a solid date.

They want to get married sometime in Sept. of this year. Thats really only 3 months away.

We need to know if anyone on here is from the Tinton Falls area and if you might know a good wedding planner?

The only one she could find so far that she could afford was someone on the internet and he said to save costs they won't meet until the wedding day. Sounds fishy to me.

She wants an indoor wedding and reception so if you know of a good place to start looking that would be appreciated too. [bow]

My daughter and I do well as far as the kids and house stuff but we both are too foggy headed to try to organize this ourselves.

Prouds Mom [hi]

Is this in NJ??

Congrats to the two of them!! [Smile]

Yes, the wedding planner sounds WAY too fishy! Ask around your area for a good one. I hope someone here can help!

Yep we're in NJ. Not much of a social life around here though. I stay home with the kids and my daughter and her hubby go to work and come home.

Well congrats to the couple. [Smile]

Maybe the pitter-patter of grandchildren soon?

I wish I could help.

I eloped. Best thing financially for us as well as stress wise.

Of course, I missed having my Mom and Dad and sisters there.

They did throw us a suprise reception about 2 weeks after coming back from Utah.

That was super-nice.

Hugs,

Geneal

When I got married I was my wedding planner.

Maybe if you Google Wedding Planner and Tinton Falls you may come up with something.

Also, if you call some of the reception halls in the area someone may be referred to you.

Congratulations!!! [woohoo] [woohoo] [woohoo]

Well, I'm 3000 miles away, but I was a coordinator for a local garden's wedding customers for one summer - and I even had to quit that as it was too much for me.

I just opened the gate and told them a few things and made sure they had bar-bottomed chairs and not straight-legged chairs that would sink.

After doing the garden job, my first advice is to have an indoor wedding. Glad to see that is the plan.

If the weather is nice, people can go outdoors for photos or to chat, etc., but I've seen too many brides in high heels - and others - slog ankle deep in soggy soil.

For outdoor weddings, I'd consult The Farmer's Almanac in advance of setting the date, for sure.

Hi Proudmom,

I'm a wedding planner in Virginia and can point you in a few directions to find help in NJ. I would agree to stay away from the one you found so far if you're looking for full wedding planning (versus day-of coordination). Feel free to PM me with any questions. I'm in the DC metro area and would be happy to let you know the average cost of services, etc.

The Association of Bridal Consultants is one of the largest wedding professional organizations and you can get referrals from their website - www.bridalassn.com. Click on the Brides link in the upper left corner and then Locate a Wedding Planner.

www.theknot.com is a huge wedding planning website. Click on the In Your Area link in the upper middle of the page, then the appropriate area in NJ, and then wedding coordinators. Note, all the vendors listed are paid advertisers.

Karol also had a good idea - many reception sites and vendors have preferred vendor lists.

Good Luck!

Smjkoj
