This might not help, but sometimes I wear a little tank top under tops when I don't wear a bra.
It doesn't give a lot of support, but if the shirt is loose enough, it can be enough coverage for me.
Jockey makes some inexpensive ones in several colors.

Thanks for the tip about keeping dry. I have noticed that I am dripping wet in that area.
I like the idea of the jockey tank tops...I think that might have worked before the weight increase

i haven't worn a bra since 1986 after my breast reduction surgery taking 5.5 lbs. of extra 44 DD of me!
i can't ... bras hit me in exactly the fibromyalgia trigger pressure points on side of each breast where we get the costochonditia, sp, PAIN!
1 thing i did do prior to surgery was CUT OUT ALL UNDERWIRES! boy did that help ME. they were causing me extra pain.
i liked idea of rolled up kleenex as i sweat so heavily also.
corn starch works good padding that area and around each leg well for those really hot days! whew...relief.

ah, the never-ending quest for a comfortable bra....
They may be a bit spendy, but I've always had pretty good luck with Wacoal bras.
They come in less common/hard to find sizes, which is a must for me, as I am a relatively small girl (32) who was cursed/blessed with triple D's.
(I ask for reduction every christmas, but the hubby says NOOOOOO!)
Underwire is evil, but a necessity if I want to keep things at chest level AND wear something that can't be easily mistaken for a bulletproof sportsbra/vest.

I have heard of Wacoal and they were the first brand that came up when I did a search for comfortable.
I just hadn't known anyone that purchased them so good to hear that it works for you.
On second thought I also added support to comfort when I was doing a search so perhaps they came up for the support part.

My daughter mentioned that when she gained all that weight when she got sick, she didn't wear a bra for years. She wore the tanks with the built in bra, but she cut the elastic.
As for kleenex rolled up...I'm a crossing guard in central Arizona and have to wash my bras every day in the summer. I would need a SHAMWOW rolled up in my bra. I take four baths a day in Aug-Oct.
That's what I like about those cheap athletic bras, KAM, I can wash them easily. They last a long time, and they are only $3.50 each.
If I have to go someplace respectible and wear a tight fitting top, I have my foundation garments with underwires and solid cups. But, for every day...these work.

Kelmo...my dog seems to go for bra's too?? She hasn't chewed my bra up but she will walk around the house with it if I have left it on the floor.
Maybe she is just trying to remind me I need to pick up after myself.

the only bra i can wear that's comfortable and doesn't cut me i half is wacaol.
the spelling may be wrong, but they're great. i buy them at dillards or nordstrom's. pricey but they last for years....

I had a fitting for a wacoal (I"m sorry you can't get out for one) and it changed my life. It is an underwire, but the underwire is fit so that it doesn't interfere with the lymph system.

Sending one bra I ordered back today. This trying to purchase a bra via the mail is going to be tricky along with going from one size I wore all my life to a size I am not so sure of even using the measurement guides.

Lymemommy, What about the Bra and Girdle Factory? It was in Ocean, Rte 35. I don't know if they moved or opened another on that is on Rte. 70. I have been telling myself to go there for yrs., but...
I remember my rheum telling me no underwires due to the costochondritis. I am little, but need an underwire, because other bras just cut me off at the sides. So, I shopped for 2 hrs. for a bra and I just couldn't find one. I actually cried. At my next appt. the 1st thing he did was grab my bra and check for underwire. I thought that was hysterical.

Yup, I normally buy my bras there, as I haven't found anyone else that carries my size. They are indeed on Route 70, and they will size you on the spot. If anybody's gonna have what you need, it would be them, and if they don't have, they would probably order it or take a bra in for you so that it fits right.

But, I know they are out there. I recall when I was working that I had a few I could wear at least 10 hours before I had to take them off.

My weight has increased dramatically making it necessary to purchase new pants, bras, etc.
After trying on every bra in the store I found some that actually feel good to wear.
I bought 2 kinds, Barely There brand "Invisible look lift" with the underwire and Barely There brand "Invisible look" wire free.
They are super soft with light padding in the cup. The wire free version is great because the material it is made out of is not too thin, it is just right so it actually offers good support. Feels more comfortable than not wearing a bra.
I purchased my bras at a local Kohls department store. They always have good sales so you might want to check out their website at kohls.com

www.walmart.com has 2 packs of Fruit of the Loom cotton bras. I bought a couple of these myself and swear by them. I'm on the larger size when it comes to bras and I find these comfy and shapely. They lift well, support well, and have wide sides so you don't get that bra mark around your underarms. You can get them with or without wires. They are only about $13 for both. You can get both white, white and black, both black, or grey and pink. I highly recommend them, and I'm pretty picky about my bras.

I have tried several Walmart bras and sports bras and have yet to find one that fits.
I don't have what it takes to go into the store and try them on so order on line....
I cruised by last time I was in the store and noticed there were a lot to choose from.
But, the brain wasn't working well enough to choose and the body wasn't working well enough to try things on.

Glad it is winter time now. Not really going to worry about it until spring.

Another reason NOT to use underwire bras.
My vehicle was hit while I was stopped at a traffic light, by a tractor trailer. I was thrown up against the steering wheel.
After being released from the hospital I took out the bag of clothes I had on that day.
My favorite Victoria Secret bra.. so pretty... was ruined.
The underwire had snapped in half on one side and the wire broke through the material, exposing my chest to two sharply pointed stiff wires.
My ribs and chest were badly bruised. I had a red slice-like mark and was scratched in a couple places by the wires (minor bleeding only) ... but thinking about it, it could have been much worse.
So yes, if at all possible, hold the wire!
And KAM...
I went to a place that measures you and supposedly gives you the right size and best fit.
I bought two bras from them and they were, by far, the worst fitting bras and so uncomfortable I couldn't even wear them.
Soooooooooo.. not to feel too bad that you can't get that kind of help.
Hope you get what you need.... and the coat idea isn't bad either!

That is a good perspective on being fitted for a bra.
Don't feel so frustrated now. NOt that it is something to get frustrated over.
We all know since lyme complex things that were once simple are not a bit more trying.

Ladies: The reason why your bras don't fit well is that you forget to include the " religion" measurement in your bra size. This is something that the ladies in the dept stores forget to measure you for. So what religion is your bra size? -- The Salvation Army size bra pick up the fallen, the Catholic size bra supports the masses and the Baptist bra size keeps em staunch and upright. LOL!!!!! I did notice that Norstrom size chart was different than One Hanes Place and another web site I have tried in the past.
I was just noticing the Breezies brand on another web site I was looking at and wondered about them as I had not heard of them before.

Hi Ladies. I never wear a bra at home. Boobs are been degraded from gravity unfortunately. Being in swirtzerland, I guess I blend in with the cows. :-(
Have any of you tried Glamorise bras? Those are my favorites for when I wear one. They are made for "larger" women. Lots of support and easy on the shoulders.
Google "glamorise bra" and you'll get several sites you can order it from.

Ordered another bra to try. Hope this works and I don't have to go through the process of sending it back...that wears me out.
I started looking in June I noticed....ah lyme time..even when it comes to bras.
I also figured out I was measuring in correctly...due to lyme brain...so hoping I got it right this time.
If I recalled correctly it was a sort of sports bra thing.
