First....

Thanks to all who worked so hard and so fast to put this protest together...

And to all who struggled to make it there to show them we care..

And to all who made calls and supported the action in other ways.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!

I found this topic in the General Section... so be sure to see the article posted on it and the report from a wonderful person who went there.

http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=019767

I just heard the following...

1. Every goal the Lyme Rights Committee set were met and many were MORE than met. VERY successful day!

2. There were over 100 people there... including members of the Military.

3. The weather was good... a few got a bit too much sun.

4. Signs about the protest were good and plentiful.

5. More media than expected showed up and will be doing articles.

6. There was video made and photos taken that will be posted.

7. Pallone's office didn't think THAT many people would be there.

8. The location was good and many cars went by honking their horns in support.

9. People came from far away and many haven't made it home yet. Those who have are exhausted for the most part.

10. The leaders are so grateful that so many are helping with the protest and the related actions involving the Attorney General.

More plans are in the works.. and have been. More news is forthcoming.

Again, thanks to ALL who cared!

You're the best!

[Big Grin]

PS. Please feel free to add your comments and any articles you see about the protest here.

Nothing like buying your allegiance and support. [shake]

They should make lobbying illegal in my very humble opinion.

A million dollars plus wouldn't change my view on Lyme, but then wait....

I suffe with it daily as do many people I love and care about. [shake]

I wish I lived closer and could participate physically in protests and such.

I agree. Those who went are wonderful beyond words.

Thank you for helping me and others by being our voice when we can't. [Smile]

God Bless.

Hugs,

Geneal

Many thanks to those who went to the protest in support of the bill. I know how much it cost, not just in money, but in precious energy, to be there.

I was there, it was great that soo many people showed up.

Lots of horns honking and people driving by cheering.

I had my mother and both of my children with me.

I know they said no sitting would be allowed but I brought chairs and set them up anyway.

I know alot of flyers were given out to passing cars, so the word will travel.

I met Kirsten there and I know several others from here came, but I dont know who I met.

Because I thought it might be wierd going around asking everyones screen name. [Big Grin]

Hopefully everyone is not sunburned. I am a llittle red and so are my children.

I forgot to bring sunscreen, my mind was not in summer mode yet. [bonk]

Any talks about another protest?

Proud [Smile]

Thanks so much to all who went. If I had been feeling even a little better I would have tried to go.

Really, Thank you.

Is it me? I can't get either link above to work.

The first is an error message and the second takes you to tinyURL with the same link as the first.

melanie,

Go to 'home' on that link, it still works.

on the home page you can access the link to the pictures.

I just typed Lyme in the search & they came up. Nice Pics! [Big Grin]

I'm glad they didn't get one of me when the wind made me hit myself in the head with my sign. [bonk] LOL

I hope nobody really saw that, but then again, that's Lyme Disease for ya. [Roll Eyes]

Here's another article from the daily record:
Daily Record

A HUGE THANK YOU to whoever was responsible for bringing the extra signs. [kiss]

I had actually thought about making a sign that said:

Couldn't find the supplies
Couldn't make a decision
Couldn't find the time
Couldn't make my sign
Why?
I HAVE LYME!!!! [Frown]

I realized that it would have been a SIGN and therefore totally senseless. Perhaps that would have REALLY conveyed the problems we have and why we need the research. Oh well, maybe next time. [Roll Eyes]

Thanks to everyone who couldn't be there but made the calls! It's great to know that we were hitting them from all angles!!! [group hug]

I was there (only live 1 town over) and I met many amazing people.

Everyone really banded together to get their voices heard.

Pat Smith rocked the house with her speech and encouragement.

Pallone's statement made me want to throw up. Nothing but the same old he has to see both sides of the story, blah, blah.

No police harassment at all.

My mom, dad and husband came with me.

I felt like we started something yesterday. Just a feeling like we are going to break through.

Remember when the Aids patients closed down the Golden Gate Bridge with the Red Wave of them all?
I believe that something like that will be in our future.

I was sad to see some in wheelchairs and infusing their meds while protesting. [Frown] If that can't touch his heart, then he has no heart.

By the way, I was the one in the big peach hat with the big sunglasses. Doxy, you know! Didn't burn with the ton of sunscreen though.

Thanks to everyone that made it.

And to all that couldn't, we carried you all with us in spirit and with your voices being heard.
[group hug]

9 photos; very colorful signs. LOVED THE HUGE PALLONE SIGN.

THANKS TO ALL WHO ATTENDED this on behalf of all of us who couldn't and being out of state! We thought of you all all day long praying for your health and safety doing this! [group hug] [kiss]

Yes, Tincup you may share it.

I was so proud to be there. There are so many people who are dedicating countless hours of their time, energy and money on behalf of all of us, that to just attend was an honor.

Four thumbs up lymedesign! That is such a wonderful video. Thanks for doing it after such a long and arduous day.

I am so happy I was able to go and experience the community of lymies and sharing stories.
Proud, you have beautiful children and I am so glad we got to meet.

Everyone has a story to tell, whether we are healtly looking or too ill to stand and need a wheelchair. We are all fighting to get better.

Pat, you did such a wonderful job with your words and passion towards this disease. Ty for all you do for us. It is not easy (I don't know how you still have your hair, I would have pulled it out by now!) [bow]

I am newbie at this and have a lot to learn! Should I still keep on calling?

Posted by daise (Member # 13622) on :

Yes Kirsten, keep on calling. You are new to Lymeland, huh? Heck of an introduction! Welcome!

Thank you Pat Smith, Tincup and everyone who went to the protest at Pallone's office and had to spend energy to go there, energy that it will take some time to regenerate.

Thank you everyone who's symptoms got a bit stressed that day.

Thank you to everyone who couldn't afford the gas, yet went anyway.

We are not done. Pallone is owned!

proud,

thanks for the links and 60 photo slide show!! wonderful, effective signs/photos.

if anyone here is involved with that site, it would be nice to have a statement of how many photo slides there are so they have an idea how much time it takes going thru them and knowing WHEN END is coming! lol [lol]

i know who pat smith is; who was other woman with bull horn who apparently spoke??

man in suit was a reporter, correct??

How can Frank Pallone look out his front door and see all these beautiful people whose lives have been changed forever by a tick bite and not realize the impact of this bill?

Why is he so afraid to bring this bill to the hill?

Does Pallone have a heart?

Posted by daise (Member # 13622) on :

Hi everyone,

No heart. Pallone is evil. He is scared. He's guilty as s___. He is so nervous that he's proceeding stupidly. Next, he'll pee his pants in public.

It's obvious, Pallone. Give it up, Pallone.

Daise [Smile]
