Can anyone tell me what the laws/rules would be regarding our copies of "Under our Skin". There is interest in our local support group for a screening with one of the DVD's one of us brought back.

Obviously the last thing I want to do is get myself in any trouble, but knowing that many parts of the country won't be having any place to view this for so long and many are anxious, I did wonder what the guidelines would be.

No one would be making any profit from it and no money would exchange hands. Has anyone had any dealings with what is and isn't allowed to be shown at Local support group meetings?

Yes, I did. I called Open Eye Pictures directly (they were really helpful) and discussed this issue with them.

Basically, here are the rules. If you go to:

http://www.underourskin.com/dvd

you will see three versions of the video for sale.

You must buy the "Community Group" DVD for $95.00

This DVD comes with the rights to show it at local community groups, churches, synagogues, etc etc
as long as you DO NOT charge admission.

This copy is made for you to buy and show to your support group meetings etc.

If you would like to use the film as a fundraiser, you have to call them and get express permission for that, but it can be done.

Your $30 DVD that you bought at the show does NOT come with permission to show it to an audience, and is for home use only.

Hope this helps.
