Last Thursday Congressman Pallone held a town meeting in NJ. He said that he will not sign

Bill HR741 as 90% of physicians do not agree with the treatment in the bill also that

physicians think that the treatment in the bill will hurt patients.

I told him that the bill does not contain any specific treatments, IV meds, or antibiotics.

Also he is not a physician and can not diagnose and recommend treatment. He ended the conversation by saying he will read the bill again.

A person in my area called his Washington office to tell him to sign the bill. The person on the

phone got upset when she hinted that his campaign contributers may be influencing his decision.

Call him in Washington at 202 225-4671
Call Senator Lautenberg also to let him know

your thoughts on Congressman Pallone at 202 224-3224. It is an election year!!!!

Please don't lose sight of where Rep. Pallone is coming from. It makes sense that he would believe the majority of doctors!

He doesn't have the "inside" knowledge that we have. That is why we have to give him this knowledge!

As I wrote on another post, the meeting with Frank Wolf, in which we put Pam's book in his hands, has led to significant activism on his part. Take a look at his website: www.wolf.house.gov

You will find videos of the forum presentations there. AND you will find the letter that he wrote to Congressman Pallone! We also now have an ongoing dialog with Congressman Wolf's office.

His Health legislative aide has asked me to keep her up to date on the IDSA guideline review. When the public hearing begins, I will let her know. If many of our legislators' health LA's are watching/listening, they will learn. Also, it will be very hard for IDSA to manipulate this process if enough people are paying attention!

Not every constiuent is going to get the same results from visiting their rep and senator; but some WILL. Then we let those go to work on their colleagues.

Let's not waste precious time and energy being angry. Let's respectfully reach out and put these educational tools, with our personal testimonies, into the hands of our legislators.

What have we got to lose?

I doubt Pallone ever read the bill, few congresscritters ever read ANY bill. Pallone is mouthing propoganda from the IDSA. "90% of doc's are against it". "It's harmful to patients." Blah, blah.

Right out of the IDSA smear handbook. Remember ? IDSA lobbyists descended on Pallone's office after the IDSA was essentially found in serious violation of medical ethics for their lyme Guidelines.

They threw the ol' one/two propoganda punch at ol' Frankie and it gave him the cover he needed to stick the bill in his congressional bathroom plumbing.

"I'll have to read it AGAIN ?" C'mon Frank, think we just fell off of the turnip truck ?
