As I was once told by an honest and very knowledgeable IDSA doctor: As long as we keep the controversy alive, so long we don't have to pay for your expensive treatment.

This radio program is really good in keeping the controversy around Lyme alive. Who is benefiting?
Not me, not us, IDSA is.

I respectfully disagree. The controversy is there no matter if we like it or not and any opportunity to we have to show the viewpoint of the chronic lyme community is a huge plus. The IDSA is going to push there agenda no matter if we are outspoken or not. So the best option is to diplomatically point out the flaws in there way of thinking so we can get the general public to recognize there are two sides to this issue.

Now about the interview it was kind of a mess on Diane Rehm's part with inadequate introduction so the general public could have any idea what was what Pam and Dr. Shor where talking about. She didn't even mention that there are two sides the IDSA and ILADS.

The good thing is the discussing was sided towards the chronic lyme viewpoint.

i've never listened to diane before and i didn't know about her voice problem either.

i think diane did OUTSTANDING JOB! she kept everyone on subject instead of any long, drawn-out rambling like phil started a couple of times.

she was quick to say she didn't understand and kept asking for user-friendly language she could understand.

PAM, KATHY FOWLER, & DR. SHOR did a wonderful job and expanding on things. i listened to it live, but my connection kept going OFF so i would have to keep hitting play to hear it.

tonight i listened to all 49:50 minutes of it again, and heard what was missed earlier.

phil was the perfect DUCK! diane had great questions for all, and SHE DID HER HOMEWORK.

if anyone has an email address i can write a thank you too, i'd appreciate it. big thanks [Smile] xox

Good news, I think the plug of the movie under our skin during the interview did help awareness. Take a look at Google search volume for the term "under our skin"

http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=Under%20Our%20Skin&date=4%2F2009%201m&cmpt=q

It now has the highest search volume it has ever had:

With the movie coming out this year, the summer coming, and more people talking about it this should be a good year for Lyme awareness
