I got a bill for the Igenex testing-- doesn't seem to have very detailed results but it does say "Diagnosis: 088.81" for both IGM and IGG. What does this mean? I tried a Google search but it didn't clarify anything for me.

Sorry for asking all these questions, I'm still a newby.

Did you actually get the results or just the bill? My husband just received a receipt in the mail from Igenex, but the actual blood results will be faxed to the physician. I called Igenex to see if results were faxed and if so, could we get a copy and they said they will not send a copy...that we have to get results/copies from the physician.

I believe you just received a bill and will have to wait a few more days.

Oh, diagnosis 088.81 is a code, I believe, for lyme...but this is probably what your Dr. put down when she or he requested the test.

.088.81 is an ICD-9 code:

http://icd9.chrisendres.com/index.php?action=search&srchtext=088.81

ICD-9 codes are a way to categorize patients according to illness for ordering lab tests and for insurance purposes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ICD-9_codes
