Yes - it's actually an antibiotic in itself. Supposedly, it has an inhibitory effect on the spirochete and makes it more prone to antibiotics.
I've been on it and it's helped significantly with reducing head pressure.

Diflucan will not kill or slow Spirochetes in any way.
It is an antifungal. It kills yeast.
Your doctor is giving it to you along with abx because he doesn't want you do develop yeast overgrowth that is associated with long term use of broad spectrum antibiotics.

Ok thank you all I was worried!!! I just read a post on here saying that Biaxin and Diflucan can have interactions but I checked with a Drug interaction calculator and it seemed ok.
Also what about Biaxin, Diflican and Xanax?
Thanks all!!1

Diflucan does have activity against lyme. It is thought to drive it out of the cyst state. There is a protocol using it for a certain number of days followed by a penicillin drug to kill the spirrochetes.
I get pain in my right arm which is lyme related. It can make my arm useless when it comes on and previously it lasted for weeks. I happened to take Diflucan the last time it suddenly got really bad and the next day the arm was normal.
I guess it is harder on the liver than nystatin though.

I only take it twice a week, one pill. Should I be taking it more? I hope this will work, it did last time. But I can't afford to take it twice a day. It's expensive without insurance.
