Looks like heavy duty stuff. Should I take this for babs or try alternatives?

I misunderstood my LLMD in August , and went off of it for 4 weeks. BOY!!!! did I ever get sick fast!!!!
I had to almost start all over again.
I take Mepron + ZITH and high dose oral amox
I have just started Plaquenil, although I was supppossed to be on it 8 months ago,,,,,long story.....
I was on Rifampin for 3 months,,,,
THIS has been the best two weeks I have had in 4 years!!!
If this lasts,,,,then I can say that I am now 90% cured.
I have also just started to eat 4 tablespoons of coconut oil everyday!!!!
I got permission from my LLMD to mix it with my mepron dose. I also add some peanut butter to the mix too. I mix it all in a tiny glass bowl. THen I use a scraper to make sure I eat every little bit of it up!!!!
Mepron is expensive and I won't let it go to waste. I then finish it off with a fruit smoothie, add extra coconut oil to it.
Do not over heat the coconut oil, and do not microwave it. If I need it to melt then I just put it in a glass bowl, and put that glass bowl into another bowl that has hot water in it.
I don't use it for cooking.
I am amazed at how healthy coconut oil is. I am finding so many articles about its benefits and how it has helped people so much.
I also rub it into my body to help with pain. And actually , since I started to eat it, I haven't needed as many pain killers.
So I don't really know if it is the coconut oil that has helped or if it is from Mepron, or just the whole combination and the whole treatment.
But , I don't care, I am just so happy to feel 90% better, and 80% more energetic!
I am nearly there!

How long were you on the meds before enzymes elevated? Also, how long until they went back down? (Sorry for so many questions. I think mine will be fine but just asking in case.)

MEPRON--there is a link somewhere about mepron blues. You have to be careful of it causing depression which sneaks up very quickly. I haven't had this problem but I'm glad I know this is a side effect.
I'm also on Zith and Mepron, 2nd month. Doing wonderfully. Best I've felt in a long time. I'm also doing Humaworm, about half way through. So, may be a combination of all these.
Good luck.

Hi Average Joe:
The LLMD my daughter goes to indicates the mepron and zithromax treatment for babesia will take at least 8 months.
Her diagnosis is clinical. Tested negative 3 times but she's had / has the symptoms.
She did not see the type of improvement some have posted here (due to the Lyme I believe) but we have seen the babs symptoms alleviate (breathing is better, bone pain decreased, headaches much less frequent / severe).
As for liver we are more concerned on the zithromax versus mepron.

If you notice your skin turning a yellowish color, call the doc. That is what happened to my girlfriend when her liver enzymes went high while taking Mepron.
It can be a vague yellowish color.

Also watch for dark urine and clay coloured stools. There could be some side pain as well but that doesn't always happen.
It can take up to a month to settle back down but depending on how high they go. I've heard them taking 3 months during which time you have to stop all meds.

I just started Mepron yesterday and I believe I can tell a slight difference already. I am not as dizzy or as tired as I was. I hope I do not get the depression or liver problems.
I tested positive - which is good as Mepron is so expensive I would hate to be treating my imagination. It cost me over 1000 dollars from Costco. I am so worried about spilling it.
The LLMD did not tell me to check my liver and I am not scheduled to talk to him again for three months. No one told me to take it with a lot of fat either, which I found out about on here. And the instructions said to take 5 ml but I was not given anything to measure ml so I accidentally took twice the dose yesterday. This morning I found out it is supposed to be one teaspoon.

nefferdun, are you sure the lyme doc didn't give you lab slips to have blood work done monthly? I hope he did give them to you.
If not, it was likely an oversight.
I would call the doc's office and tell them you will not be talking with the doc for 3 months. Should he send you some lab slips to check your liver enzymes monthly since you are taking Mepron...
