Hi all: I have been treating for a year, and most symptoms are really gone. Only this hideous anxiety - like nothing I have ever experienced - remains. I was not treated for Bart, but I have no other symptoms other than the anxiety/depression. Could this still be bart?

I see Dr H in NY and he does not think it is Bard, because I have just the one symptom. Anybody else had just psych symptoms with Bart?

Bart seems to cause anxiety in daughter. It always increases when we treat Bart.
Good Luck with your treatment.

You can just have anxiety. It does not neccessarily have to be related to tick borne illness. I think lyme can cause it, but I also think we are very likely to develope anxiety when dealing with a long term chronic illness.
Treat the anxiety and see what happens. I would opt to treat both the anxiety and the bart/lyme at the same time. I developed a mood disorder and anxiety due to LD, and I am treating all of these at the same time.

Have you had your thyroid checked recently? That could mess with anxiety level.

-----I (JUST) registered today (Tuesday, Nov 23). I have come under the belief that I may have had Lyme for over 20 years (laying dormant or something). I have read that this can happen with no symptoms. I am constantly getting a 'denied' not allowed to start a post pop-up whenever I try. Can you lend me a hand? I did have a large coffee-can cover sized bullseye rash back in 1990. It was located on my left leg above the knee.

Get your magnesium levels and Vitamin D levels checked. These deficiencies are common with Lyme and a deficiency in either will cause crazy anxiety and inflammation. Go get some topical magnesium and apply liberally throughout the day and see if it abates some. Alternatively, an IV or IM shot is best. It could still be Bart, but its pretty easy to address these and rule them out.

If you haven't treated for parasites/worms it might be a very good idea to consider. Dr. K. treats ALL of his patients for parasites before he goes after the other infections. Anxiety can be a symptoms of infestation.
I got rid of my severe anxiety when I treated for parasites. Google parasite symptoms.

I was just diagnosed after a year of lyme symptoms and the worst was extreme anxiety/panic attacks. I was told I have NO co-infections so I'm hoping thats true and the anxiety is part of the disease. However, before I was diagnosed I saw a homeopathic doctor who gave me an anxiety remedy. This helped SOOOO much. My anxiety went from a 10 to a 2! I don't know the name of the remedy since they vary from person to person. Worth a try.
