I stopped yesterday...feels almost like a herx or something. Could be the weather..humid, sultry, cloudy. Noticed 3 days ago feeling like really weak muscles after outdoor activity.

I don't know. I just feel very, very sleepy. Probablly nothing. Maybe it's my body's reaction to knowing it's over. Then again maybe it's the heavy metal detox I took last night.

Gee. We can run ourselves ragged with the what-ifs. I'll probablly get mad at myself for posting this.

I have. I did 2 cycles of antibiotics, and was feeling great at the end of my 2nd one. After the first week of being off I started noticeing my symptoms coming. I've been off for 3 weeks now and feel myself slipping away. I'm very, very sleepy, even after a good nights sleep and several cups of coffee, my eyes just don't feel awake. The muscle weakness is coming back.

I know that I need to go back on antibiotics, but my llmd won't put me back on until my wbc comes up, it's extremely low. Sorry you are feeling bad. I had just got my hopes up thinking that I was better when I started crashing.

Praying for you.......your not alone....

Yes, I stopped my Levaquin one time and got progressively worse for a week. Then I realized it must have been working and got back on it.

My daughter felt bad on Rifampin, stopped it, and got worse. Her LLMD then decided she didn't need abx any more, so she was without them for more than 2 months. That was the worst 2 months of her entire illness.

Sorry to hear of this rough patch.

I do not think it is the weather. Is everyone else around you having the same reaction - from the weather? Probably not.

Not sure how long your treatment was but one - three years is the normal for even making good headway. Some need longer treatment.

I spoke with one woman who had lyme for many years. She did great on doxycycline but if she stopped it, a crash would follow. For nine years, on and off, always a crash when it was stopped. She felt great when on it but just could not stop it.

At that time, I did not know about the cyst form so I don't know if she had the combination treatment that involved other antibiotics besides doxy and also addressed the cyst form (with flagyl) and biofilm issues.

Were you treated with combination Rx? Did treatment go for at least a couple full months beyond the point of having reached a good solid remission with no symptoms?

Separate matter and - yes - metal detox can make anyone feel horrible. That is very complex and requires a great deal of nurturing. Are you taking both chelators AND binders? If you feel horrible, you may have taken too much of one thing or not the right combination. Or you may need a different approach - and probably one that is slower and more gentle.

Good luck.

If symptoms come back that quickly it is probably not lyme but a co-infection. At least that is what I 've been told.

I'd be highly suspect of heavy metal chelation. Are you on a good binder?

? ". . . after outdoor activity"

Maybe it was just too much, too soon. Are you still taking good adrenal support? Activity can also stress the liver, so continued liver support is best.
