I know this is a duplicate post, and hopefully you guys will be ok with me posting in both major forums. Because there have been several questions here lately about pregnancy and lyme, etc. I wanted to be sure the moms who only post on Med questions saw this too.

I created a group on Lyme Friends for Moms with Lyme to talk about parenting with lyme as well as things like pregnancy (or avoiding pregnancy while on antibiotics). At this point, it seemed easiest to use a platform that already existed. Look forward to seeing you there.

Why are there so many specific questions to join? Zip code, photo, etc? I do not feel comfortable posting these but would be interested in this.

I would just make up a zipcode. Don't use your real name, where it says name. Just use a screenname.

And for a photo, pull a random photo off the internet.

The only thing that needs to be real is probably your email address.

Lymefriends runs on a piece of software called Ning, which they can't control (it's kind of like Facebook). Ning requires all those questions, they don't do anything with the information. Lots of people use a pretty picture of something non-human, or a cartoon, or whatever, as their photo, like Hoosiers said, it doesn't have to be you.

Symptom Free!!! Thank you all!!!!

Find me at Lymefriends, I post under the same name.

Thanks BeHealthyNow!
Being a mom with Lyme to kids with Lyme is so crazy to say the least. We are getting through it though. It will be fun to connect with other mommies. I told my sister to join too. She just got diagnosed in October and is mom to a 4 year old.

Things are never dull. After 3 fighting Lyme, 2 are in remission. Youngest is still sick, age 22. He has new diagnosed Chiari Malformation and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.

The site is private, and no one can see any of your information except the members. Once you are on the site, I will say people find it really neat to be able to see where other people are from, how old they are, etc; because they are looking for "friends" who might be near their age, have similar interests, or live near them.

However, you can absolutely make up anything you want! You can use your real name, like on Facebook, which is much more public, or not. The information helps people to connect. You can just use a first name, or use a "handle." It will accept whatever you put in!
