I started mepron 2 weeks ago and can't stop crying. I was dxd with ALS 8 months ago and have been on ceftriaxone since.

My white blood cell count is slowly sinking so I'll have to go off the iv soon. I think the ALS will kick in again when I'm off the ceftriaxone.

I feel so hopeless. I don't want to live with this disease ezting away my control.

Yes, go to the "quick links" thread at the top of medical questions. There is a link to the "Mepron Blues" thread.

Maybe it is hitting something. I just started it too and after nearly two weeks my mood is beginning to lift. I hope you find something that helps.

But if you really feel suicidal, call your LLMD for a change in meds because a lot of people experience severe depression while on it and cannot tolerate it. There are other drugs.

It absolutely can. Please stop taking Mepron if it becomes unbearable. You will get through this and get to a better place - you might actually be in a better place already, but mepron could be making you think otherwise through its effects on your state of mind.

Liver support is absolutely essential to helping your state of mind while on Mepron - I've been using burbur extract and B-12, so far both have made a world of difference.

Mepron made me cry and suicidal the whole time I was on it. It did work though.

I upped my dosage of lexapro at the time and it helped.

Just know that those thoughts are not yours-it's the drug

Call your doctor if you can't handle it-there are options

Hugs and prayers

Yes! Please go off ASAP if it is making you feel suicidal, and know that it will pass. There's a lot out there on Mepron and depression.

Yes, I've read mepron can make a person think suicidal thoughts, often around the third week.

My understanding is that you're to stop it. You can restart it when you're feeling better, but should confer with LLMD for the OK.
