I have been on rifampin a few different times and each time i feel hyper and i get air hunger...my lyme dr says it is a side effect of the drug...what do you think?

What other bart meds could i try? I do not want to go on levaquin....too risky...

please let me know

I'm kind of surprised your dr. says it's a side effect, it sounds more like a herx.. but he's the expert..

My LLMD says these are the drugs best suited for Bart treatment:

Many antibiotics used to treat Lyme disease will also be effective for Bartonella.
The more specific drugs are Levaquin , Ciprofloxacin,Moxifloxin,Doxycycline,Minocycline,Cephalosporins,Rifampin and Bactrim.

Most medications have side effects and needs to have careful clinical and lab. tests observation regularly.
Every LLMD has their favourites combinations and will vary from doctor to doctor.
