I am on rifampin again, only 75 mgs three times a week and have the same issues as last year when I was taking this med 300 mg daily. I have air hunger, abnormal vivid dreams, hyper, anxious, etc. Is this a bart herx or a side affect? No one can tell me what causes this, I may go on cipro instead but I also heard this drug can cause abnormal dreams? Can anyone help me out, I am trying to attack my bartonella for a year but cannot seem to stay on a drug. Should I try levinqun and risk the chances of getting tendonitits? Please help me out? thanks Diana

When I first started Rifampin (600mg/day), I had serious dizziness and nausea, anxiety and some increased air hunger. Now that i've been on it for awhile, I don't have those issues anymore.
Vivid dreams, heck, I've ALWAYS had those, even before lyme and co were in the picture.

- Also do a Google search: "chronic neurotoxins"
(thanks to TerryK who just reminded me of that in a note she just posted elsewhere) -
