Has anyone tried the low fat diet to help eradicate Babs? Did it help?
(already did Mepron and malarone, so don't need fat for meds)

I am on a very low fat diet (10-20grams a day).
My understanding from my llmd is that it doesn't eradicate babs. Low fat will help you be more effective with abx getting to the bug and fight it better.
I'm feeling pretty good. I work full time... still on meds... I'm a retreat right now for the last 1 1/2... have my bad days, but they are few and far between.

On mepron and need a high fat diet so it is absorbed better.
I am talking a LOT of fat. At $50 a day for this stuff there is no way I am going to not eat the fat and limit it's effectiveness.

I was on Mepron for over 1 yr when I was back in MT in my first treatment.
No one ever said to eat high fat with Mepron. I was seeing a top LLMD in NY state at the time too. (Dr.H)
I got better on Mepron and didn't eat high fat.
Interesting.

Dr H definitely says eat high fat. It's got the fat grams listed on the script!

Back in 2000 when I was on Mepron, he wasn't saying that.... like I said.... interesting that I got better and didn't eat high fat.
