Topic: What Causes Hypersensitivity To Meds and Supplements?

I was never hypersensitive to meds and supplements before I got really sick.
Now, I feel EVERYTHING I take. Some worse than others.
I can't even take an entire B-50 without feeling revved up and jittery and blah. I have to cut it in fourths and take 1/4 at least 6 hour apart.
Forget about taking a cold med or Benadryl or anything like that. I will be in the ER if I take those.
I used to be able to take an entire B-100 and not feel a thing. Use to be able to drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day and now 1/2 cup sends me through the roof. Any vitamin C higher than 500mgs makes me feel like I will pass out. Vitamin D over 200 IU's at one time will put me in bed curled up in a ball.
It is pretty much like this with everything and whatever I do take has to be done in MUCH lower doses, and sometimes even that is too much.
Does anybody know what causes this?
Inflammation?
Clogged up liver?
Most importantly, does this get better? Can it get better?
Thanks Sorry for all the questions lately.

Gosh, I just read about this phenomenon yesterday. That's why some docs take the low and slow approach. If I find the link I saw, I'll post it but due to lyme brain I don't remember where I saw it.
It would seem logical that it is a liver issue. Not all milk thistle is the same quality wise.

Detoxing is important. Lyme has a tendency to exaggerate or amplify any metabolic issues (usually enzyme deficiencies -- gut, pancreas, liver, muscles, mitochondria, etc.) or genomic variants (methylation cycle -- liver detox pathway), thus making it more difficult for the body to deal with everything without reacting.
Vitamin B12, molybdenum, and many other nutritional / herbal supplements can be helpful IF the products, doses, etc. are customized to each individual by someone who has experience working with the complexities of Lyme/coinfections/CFS/MCS/GWS/etc.

I would love to read that if you can find it apljack.
Razzle, my B12 levels are already way over the range, in the lower thousands ( around 1100 ).
I do admit, when I first started abx's it was rough and I had to do them every other day. Now I can at least do it daily ( Omnicef )and handle it better, not great but better. The Zith is still every other day. It still wigs me out.
But it's the non-abx's stuff that baffles me and why I'm hypersensitive to that stuff. I can't blame that on Herx'ing.
Thanks y'all
