just wanted to give an update

well about 2 months ago I started to taper off my very low dose of kolonipin.

my Dr doctor thought benzo tolerance withdrawal might be the culprit of my derealization, because the De-real came on after the benzo use started

and when i upped it to deal with a bad spell of de-real it would temporarily get much better.

real withdrawal was tough, the first few weeks tapering off i had a flair in all my symptoms but they have settle down now,

now I'm benzo free for 2 weeks and
the crazy derealization vision stuff is much Better and the fog seems less,

i now feel like the relief i would get from upping my benzos only i'm off them,

thank you Jesus

so if you get relief from upping your Benzos you might want to check with your doctor about benzo tolerance withdrawal

thanks guys

Very common. Many of the w/d symptoms of benzo.s - especially Valium - can cause a wide array of symptoms that mirror lyme as well as some psychiatric conditions (there is even a seperate DSM diagnosis for substance w/d enduced MH syndromes).

Depending on how long you have been on Benzo.s, a taper can take upward to 6 months or even longer to complete AND it will take your brain much longer to generate its own GABA once again. If you take Benzo.s too soon after you taper you are at risk for putting yourself right back in the throws of a w/d again.

One thing to look out for is something called "Protracted w/d syndrome". This can happen if you taper too fast and your symptoms will wax and wane and linger for an extended period of time.

Benzo. w/d is right up there with Alcohol w/d in terms of how difficult it is on the mind and body.
