I'm in a year long relationship and recently, things have gone very sour. The relationship is at its low point and I'm not sure what to do.
There is a lot of feedback recently that I'm not being thoughtful of the relationship and am acting mechanical. I feel like this is sort of true - I can't "see" what is going on. Like there is a mental block.
Does anyone else have this problem, or has anyone else had this problem?
And is there any advice on what I can do to save this relationship?

From what I have heard, and how I have lived, your problem is not uncommon. Despite 13 years of marriage, and two years with a professional marriage counciler, I am in the same place you are.
Based on what I have tried and what I have not, I would start with straight talk. Like,
"I am sick as **** with a disease known to erode both physical and emotional well being. I am working like a dog to be better. I am doing the best I can, and giving you the most I can."
Then the real talk can start.

Thanks jmb. I'd love to hear from anyone else if they have experiences or insight they can share.

That's about all you can do. Be direct, be honest. If you need to write it down, do that. The reality is that Lyme Disease changes people's personalities sometimes and it's not uncommon. It can make walking through the world like you're dreaming and you definitely aren't in control a lot of the time.
