after my visit to the er, i've had some vegetable soup and three crackers -- MISTAKE!!! i was really hurting and the pain started again, after midnight and got worse until about 4 or so.

today i tried a instant breakfast for nutrition and just now had a little cream of wheat. my stomach is hurting already.

i took 1/4 of a vicodin and 1/2 of the hycosamine from the er. i'm drinking water trying to stay hydrated in case i have to go back to the er, but i'm only going until i'm bleeding out, ya hear??

my appt is for the 29th. i guess i will live on water until then.

anybody got any ideas?

i still have that one area under the left rib which feels like a pulled muscle or a gristle when i press on it. i can actually feel something moving. my stomach where it curves in the middle is sore.

after eating i start feeling like someone has a band around me and is pulling it tighter and tighter. and then i get short of breath and can't breath.

i am nauseous but i don't vomit. no temperature, no increase in bp or heart rate. that's what the doc said was not consistent with pancreatitus. but from what i've read, not all people have the usual classic symptoms. so i'm really confused.

what the heck is going on?

both meals involved wheat of some sort. probably a long shot, but my gluten issues started out of the total blue- one day fine, literally not the next. tests aren't sensitive unless you have full-blown celiac. can you try going off gluten and see what happens?

ps for some quick nutrition w/out much fuss, try some rice "gruel" baby food and other baby food veggies and fruits if you can handle it.

Try easy to digest liquids only. Chicken broth, vegetable broth, herbal teas, etc. And I agree with the no gluten. Gluten promotes inflammation, and you don't need more inflammation right now.

Milk based drinks such as the instant breakfast stuff are too much work for the pancreas to break down if it is inflammed, and dairy proteins are pro-inflammatory also.

My Mom didn't have the classic symptoms of chronic pancreatitis either, but she did have it. Her symptoms were pain, nausea, and weight loss. No elevated bp or heart rate.

Ergggh! I think Randi is in the hospital with pancreatitis! (I heard from another LN member). Pancreatitis is no joke.

I'm concerned about it myself, although the GI dr keeps saying "no," I don't have it. My pancreatic enzymes have climbed higher again, and the symptoms just won't quit. Lord have mercy!
