I has my first dose of IV Invanz.. About half way through, I got really nauseated. I got really sick and took a zofran for the nausea.

Now I am still a bit creepy feeling and sleepy (which I assume is from the Zofran).

Anyone else have any problem with Invanz or is this just cause it is the first time.

Thanks!

Hi!

Yes that's completely normal. In fact, the first time I dripped it I had the nurse set it up for one hour (typically they said to do it in 30 minutes). Well w/in 15 minutes I went pale and she looked at me and asked if I had a Epi pen! I guess I must have looked really bad! LOL.

I was sitting down yet I felt like I was on a boat in the rough seas! The nausea thing lasted about 2 weeks or so... now it's not nearly as bad. However, Invanze increased my liver enzymes significantly!! So I would highly recommend that you have all your organs checked once a week. I have to work hard at detoxing to bring the levels down. On the weeks where I cannot do Castor Oil packs for at least 3x then my liver enzymes increase again. So do be careful! Must detox!!

Scorpio, you were the one who said Rifampin helped keep your bart in check but didn't cure it, right?

Well, hows it going on the Invanz so far? Is it hitting the bart better than Rifampin?

Hi,

Yes I was not taking Rifampin in high enough doses... so when I stopped the Bart went out of control (that's how I know it did help but not enough to cure it)! Invanze helped me the most in pain... 70%-80% of my pain is gone which allows me to get up and cook a meal and even run to the store. I have even cleaned the kitchen and did some laundry a few times already! It also helped w/ my fatigue (now don't get me wrong I'm still very tired on most days but I no longer need a nap to get through the day). I also noticed I'm sleeping much better at night which I'm thrilled.

I think Invanz is hitting my Lyme but not so much my Bart... for I still have a lot of Bart symptoms. I'm will be going on IV Rifampin in a few weeks for the Bart.

Hi Dan67,

My Bart symptoms are:

streaked rash
swollen glands
stiff neck
stomach pains
sore soles/heels
peripheral neuropathy
hair loss
irritable bladder
heart palpitations, pulse skips
seeing floaters
wooziness
mood swings, irritability, depression
brain lesions

I think at this point my Bart is much worse than my Lyme!

Getting really sick and it is only my third infusion. Nurse said to infuse slower, might help. The doc added septra also to the mix of plaquenil, alinia and actigall.

I feel like I have been on the high seas during a storm. I am a great eater and crackers and 7 up are all I can do today.

I wish I could have some cheese with my whine.....sorry to be a wuss, but nausea just peels me apart. All ideas welcome.
No mention of fish please....
