I started getting treatment for babesia either 2 or 3 months ago (Lyme brain....who the f knows, you know?). Anyway, my babesia symptoms have significantly increased in this time. I'm wondering....for those who have been treated for babesia: is it like Lyme, where you get worse before you get better? Should I be taking these all as signs that we are really beating the s--- of the babesia???
Thank you for you assistance, and God bless every last one of you.

Jedi,
They say Mepron takes 4 weeks to reach max level in your body. My weeks 4 thru 9 on Mepron were the worse for me, then I started to see improvments. I'm currenlty in month 5 fighting Babs with new symptoms popping up and old symptoms not seen in over a year returning.
Never a dull momement. The way symptoms overlap its tough to determine where the symptoms come from.

What you are describing is ture for many treating Babs. To me, it sounds like the meds are working.
It can be a tough infection to eradicate for some. Keep on keeping on!

I haven't treated Babs with ABX or mepron or any pharmaceutical, I'm using A-Bab.
I'm finally on drop 15 (the recommended amount that you work up towards).
When I first started, I herxed around 5 drops. I built up slowly over the last 2-3 months. I am finally not really having any air hunger (except on days I drink nothing but coffee, but that would give ANYONE a freakin panic attack! lol)
My doc follow up is on Tuesday, we will see what she says. But overall, I can tell I feel a bit better. I feel ready to hit lyme again or use heavier abx.
I should note, i was taking Parastroy and Salt/C the entire time while on A-Bab. It's been 3 months straight, I feel like the bulk of the work is done, but I'm not quitting parasite tx until I feel 100%.
Just keep A-Bab in mind for after ABX. A lot of people i've talked to that couldn't quite kick it with months of mepron/malarone/zith whatever...said they feel like they finally kicked the last load giving them lingering problems with the use of A-Bab.

I've been treated for babs for 4+ mos. The first 2-3 mos my symptoms improved, but during the last month, many symptoms have regressed to the point before I ever started abx. Some new ones have popped up too.
TF (another post) pointed out to me that according to Burrascano's guidelines, mepron needs to stay in the blood for 72 hours and that probinecid (booster) does that.
TF has been cured for six years. I'm listening to her (follows Burrascano's guidelines to a T)!
Can't wait to see my, or for that matter, another doctor. I've tried getting a hold of him but he isn't calling back
