Can someone explain how the testing works? Does he use nosodes with it? If I were to try PE1 at home, would it help to find a local practitioner (or even a vet) to get tested with ahead of time?
I was thinking I would get tested by my local ART doc before starting treatment, and then sporadically as I go along, but I just found someone close by with a Bicom and I'm wondering if that would be better (and probably cheaper).

From what I understand, it's the machine Dr. W uses to test you before treating with photons. I think (if I'm understanding correctly), it tells him which infections you are harboring, etc. I was hoping someone who's been to Germany would chime in with some more info.

All Dr. W uses it for is testing. It has more uses than that though. Sorry, I would have answered, but I thought you were talking about treating with it, which can be done.
All the Bicom is going to tell you if used like Dr. W uses it is whether you have Lyme or not. He uses it for diagnosis. You *could* go see that practitioner, or you *could* just go based on symptoms.
I did use ART (a Klinghardt trained one) to guide me a bit. I had it done three times to just see where I needed to focus my attention next.
