So I missed my monthly visitor last month (well, I didn't MISS it, but you know what I mean, lol).
Knew for certain I wasn't pregnant, but took a test anyway. Hubby was getting concerned, so I called the gyno yesterday and made an appt. (they couldn't get me in till next month, but the nurse wasn't really concerned) So of course, guess what happened last night?
Now the dr. office told me to call if I do start having very heavy bleeding--which at the moment I am having, as I would expect after being 3 weeks late. Also having some pain around both ovaries--nothing major, just annoying.
What's bugging me the most is that my air hunger, which has been almost completely gone since starting the new treatment, is back with a vengeance, as are some other symptoms that I haven't had for a long time (phantom smells, really weird vision issues, that kind of thing.
Just trying to piece together if this is ALL lyme-related, perimenopause-related, or a combination. BTW, I'm 42.
Would you say this is normal with a screwed up cycle? Anything I can do/take for some short-term releif?

Burrascano lists "unexplained menstrual irregularity" as a lyme symptom (or at least a tick-borne infection symptom). That is exactly what you are describing.
Lyme gave me a false menopause for years and I had to take hormone replacement for years due to it. It shrunk my ovaries to a tiny size. I produced no estrogen or progesterone, and testosterone was very low also. All of this causes numerous other symptoms which I will not mention but you can imagine. All this reversed with good lyme treatment. Junky lyme treatment didn't change this, by the way.
I was older than you when this all happened. But, gynecologically, it seemed like I had the problems of an 85 year old. That shows you the power of lyme when it attacks your gynecological system.
Unexplained milk production and breast pain are other symptoms, and I have known women who suffered with that also due to lyme. So, this disease can do an awful lot to you.
Due to your age, it could be lyme or not. The only way you will know is if you get rid of lyme and the irregularity stops.
I only know of a long-term relief, and that is getting rid of lyme. I did that by going to a doctor who followed the Burrascano protocol.
It is now over 6 1/2 years since I completed my treatment and I am still symptom free, enjoying my life. I have the same life I had before lyme disease. I had lyme, babs, and bart. I went undiagnosed for at least 10 years.
