I started taking Betaine HCL and WHOA! [Eek!]

I have no burning stomach pain from it or reflux, but it has w.i.p.e.d. m.e. o.u.t.

I feel like I have the flu.

This is worse than anything I felt with photons. [bow]

Yes!! HCL is our first line of defense against pathogens and most of us are deficient. Make sure you take it with food!

If you have parasites, I'd say yes! HCL is one thing that helps us keep parasites from taking up residence in our bodies. The high acid in the stomach kills them before they go into the rest of the GI tract.

So yeah, can kill parasites, candida included, if it's in the GI tract.

Thanks!!!

I never realized I had so many symptoms of low stomach acid. My LLMD suggested taking Betaine with my iron to absorb it better.

I'm taking it with food, Gael. But I see conflicting info about whether to take it before, during or after eating. So I take one before and one after. I still feel no burning with 2 pills, but I feel like I have a monster flu and my eyes are drooping and red. Feel like I need to sleeeeeeeep.

I take it early in my meal, then more after if I muscle test as needing more. I often need several, never less than two .... if eating out, as many as five, but usually three or four.

I take Thorne Biogest. It's more than HCL.

Similar to what six is suggesting as to dosing. Sometimes I need as many as 5 or 6. I also take Super Digestaway by Soloray that also contains enzymes as well as ox bile and pancreatin.

They are also antparasitic. Add in one at a time as tolerated. They can be a great adjunct in knocking out these infections and the enzymes are also anti-inflammatory.
