Hi, I have a friend that went in on Monday for an MRI on her hip and shoulder/neck. That night she went by ambulance to hospital in severe pain and couldnt sit up or walk. She is still in the hospital and they don't know what is wrong...
Her kidneys are fine, but the first thing I thought of was, test her for LD. Does anybody know of any reactions like this ever happening?
They have her on a morphine drip and she still has pain (allover pain). They are talking about a muscoskeletal disease of some kind now. She is only 30 and has 2 babies...any ideas?

I don't know, but I've always wondered if MRI machines can stir up heavy metals.
I wore my wedding ring in the machine, and my ring finger kept being pulled up by the magnetic force.

Thanks Hambone, I'll suggest it to her. I can't believe they let you wear your ring in a MRI! They wouldn't even let me wear my underwire bra for mine.
At any rate, she is still in the hospital...

Did they give her contrast? That might have something to do with it. It usually has iodine in it which a lot of people are sensitive to.

They did give her the contrast, but she cannot sit up or walk either, she cannot support herself. The only thing they have done is check her kidneys and they did an x-ray today.
