Anyone ever have it on this forum while being treated for Lyme?
I know our immune systems are being taxed as it is and just wondering if it passed in the 7-10 days the experts say.
If so, did it ever reoccur?
My LLMD is out of the office right now which is why I am throwing this online.

Before I have been diagnosed with Lyme, I had Hand foot and mouth. It was three years into my initial onset. I thought at first that it was the initial illness coming back because the sores I had on my hands were similar. However, it ended up being HFM. I have not had a recurrence since. I was working in a nursery at the time, so that is most likely where I picked it up.

I had Parvo virus years ago. Then had a bad re-occurrence about 5 years ago. (Parvo is the virus behind HFM). So, in my opinion, yes, it can reoccur, although it is not suppose to be common.

What? Seriously? I had HFM in June '09. I had parvo in July '09. (no official diagnoses, but they are easy to ID, especially in my kids). By the end of '09, early '10 I had full on RA, and a Lyme diagnosis shortly after that. These two infections seem to have been the trigger for my dormant Lyme. In all my research, I never saw anything indicating they were related to each other. I was thinking HFM was a bacteria and parvo a virus. (I also think I had HFM a few years prior.)

When I had Parvo, 5 years ago for me, the worst of it was for about 1 week. (The doc called it Parvo, so maybe it wasn't HFM?? Parvo blood test was positive.)
I didn't mind the joint pain, swelling, rash, etc. That stuff was no big deal to me. My issues are nerve-pain related. So for me, when my hands swelled it pinched my carpel tunnel and through me into sheer agony for about 5 days. I wouldn't do steroids, but I did take very 5 doses of motrin and that calmed things down.

Now that I'm thinking back, I'm thinking maybe HFM has different versions, where it can be bacterial or viral (like pneumonia). I'd have to research again to be sure though.
Parvo was extremely painful and lasted for months for me. I'm not exactly sure when it went away, as it activated Lyme and RA and all the symptoms ran together.

This is what I am afraid of happening. My Lyme is manageable but hoping this does not overtax my system and gives Lyme the green light to have a party again. Today is day 9 and seems to be slightly better, hopefully turning the corning on HFM.

FWIW, I think the parvo is longer lasting and more often considered a co-infection of Lyme than HFM.

I got hand foot and mouth disease when I had Lyme.
I worked closely with children at the time. We are taught that generally adults are not susceptible to this disease because they build immunity to the virus (Coxsackie virus) as children. Little did I know, I had an immune deficiency and I was susceptible to all the bad stuff that the kids exposed me to...
Anyways, the virus started like a bad cold. I felt feverish, headachy, tired, and more run down than usual. I ignored the symptoms because I was leaving to go on vacation with a group of friends the next day. We had been planning the trip for 6+mo. One of our best friends was getting married, I couldn't let a little virus stop me...
While visiting NYC the foot blisters and hand blisters showed up. Then I knew what virus I was fighting. Not a fun thing to trek around the city with especially with a group of young people determined to walk everywhere, see everything, and use the subway only. I pretty much felt like I was going to die.
But I still managed to have fun and I have good memories of that trip to NYC. In all it probably took me about 3-4 wks to recover from the virus. I went home much sicker than I was before I left for the trip.
My advice, try to get some extra rest if you can. That will help you recover from any virus faster. If you try to push through and do your normal activities it will take you far longer to recover.
