- Derk,
If you break up your posts so that more can read and you can get more answers. Punctuation is also very helpful to the eyes of the reader.
Many here have vision troubles so it really helps to have short paragraphs and a new paragraph for each new thought or question. That tells our eyes to AND brain to shift gears. ---------

- It's not so much which works best but treatment is a complex process of rotation, combinations. There are just so many variables.
First concern: if your girlfriend had left-over antibiotics, I hope she got a different Rx to address the matter).
"Some" amoxi - whatever the total would likely not be enough to help with lyme treatment at this point. I assume it would be about a week's worth ?
If this were a brand new infection and that's all you had, maybe but I hope others will come along with their thoughts on this.
Be sure to get some PROBIOTICS and take separate from abx (antibiotics) or from herbal supplements.
As for the herbs, just read up on each of them. You can search the archives for many of those, too.

- I see that last May 2011, you posted that you:
"have been suffering for a year and a half"
So, that answers one question that can color the replies here.
I suggest then, starting SLOWLY on the herbs (one at a time) until you can see good ILADS-educated LLMD or ILADS-educated LL ND (naturopathic doctor) for a thorough assessment. -

- derk,
Is there a way you can make shorter paragraphs? Otherwise, many will not be able to read what you write.
Squished posts with no white space breaks (or no formal stop to sentences) just look like a sea of swirling black and grey bits to my eyes and to many others here. -
