I've been increasing doxycycline slowly but today I couldn't force my lungs to take in or breath out very deeply. My memory has gotten noticeably worse too.
I've heard doxy is really bad for ALS patients, am I making myself worse faster? Has anyone else had these symptoms on doxy?

I didn't think you were supposed to take zith with rifampin but I could be wrong. When my doctor added rifampin, she took me off Zith (I was also on Ceftin).
Doxy can be rough, but it's never caused me to have breathing problems. Call your doctor.

I'm sorry your feeling so bad, there's nothing worst than not being able to take a breath!
This does fall under severe side affects so I would call your LLMD. Please be very carful!!!
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Doxycycline Monohydrate:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); bloody stools; chest pain; dark urine; decreased urination; fever, chills, or sore throat; moderate to severe sunburn; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; severe diarrhea; severe or persistent headache; stomach pain or cramps; throat irritation; trouble swallowing; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual joint pain; unusual tiredness; vaginal irritation or discharge; vision changes; yellowing of the skin or eyes.

I couldn't take a deep breath for 2 yrs when i first collapsed back in 1983, and at times couldn't take a breath. I was not on any meds or herbs since i didn't know I had Lyme.
I kept getting rushed to the hospital via ambulance and they could never find anything wrong except a very low B/P of 70/30 or below that.
Have your B/P checked. It could also be from adrenal exhaustion which I had also. Maybe some sea salt and Vit C which helps adrenals and low B/P would help.
Also agree that it could be a herx or side effect from the doxy. Doxy also kills baby filarial worms, so again could be that or babesia.
Call your doc and also have your B/P checked. I know it's scary, but somehow I survived it and I pray that you will also.
Try and take in little sips of air when it happens and also some oxygen kept in the house might be a good idea.
In fact, I think that would be a very good idea and comforting as well. Suggest it to your doctor.
Feel better,
Gael

Oh, gosh. You're probably in a herx.
Do your detox and consider cutting back on the Doxy. You shouldn't have to herx at this level.
These do sound like Babesia symptoms. Are you still on the Stromectal/Ivermectin?

If you seriously "can't breath" and "feel scared" then you should go to the ER. You shouldn't count on everything being a herx.
Is this a new symptom? It sounds too serious to ignore. Sorry. Please, seek medical attention ASAP.

I agree with sammy. We have no idea whatsoever is this is a herx or more serious. Not that both aren't serious. You know what I mean.

Possibly : you need an antifungal ? Fungus can cause breathing probs , esp on ABX . Oil of oregano or garlic could help .
Also , could you have asthma ? Sometimes I need asthma meds .... saying a prayer that you are given guidance divinely ...
