Not 100% sure that's what it is but wondering if any of you have experienced this. Feeling anxious-like, racing thoughts, at the same time have some extra energy. Is it 'fake energy'? How will taking adrenal supps help us heal?
My ND gave me this, and they are capsules so I suppose I could split them? Thoughts?

- Let me guess.
Is Rhodiola in it? SAMe? Glandulars? Ginseng (the kind of Ginseng can make a difference)? High amount of B3 (niacin)?
All those can create a wired effect and, you sense correctly, that is not a good thing.
Right now, magnesium and fish oil might help balance that out. Some protein, too.
Your body may a different formula - or a lower dose. Or, maybe you need to take with food?
Is your ND lyme literate and ILADS-educated? Even if so, it sometimes takes effort to find the right combinations and doses. If not LL, they may not grasp the adrenal dysfunction with lyme -
- or even if they are LL, it may just take a while to find the right formula for you.
Can you post the link &/or brand, name & ingredient list? I'll give it a look, based upon many, MANY times of getting wired from this or that.
You can also search at James Wilson's Adrenal Fatigue site to learn more about ingredients. -

- The cordyceps is fine. Very balancing.
Rhodiola, certainly can be too stimulating for many with lyme, especially at first.
It's VERY difficult to be treated, even not exactly for lyme itself, by anyone who is not LL. Can you find one who is - or who would want to get the ILADS training?
I'll look over the link and see what else jumps out at me. -

Ingredients: Cordyceps, Panax Ginseng, Rhodiola (see amounts at link)
Other Ingredients: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, silica and magnesium stearate.
-------------------------
So, looking at the list, the proportions are good.
Did you take one or two?
If two, cutting it down to one should help. And take it no later than with lunch (for now).
Did you take it with food? (That should help lessen the wired effect.)
Even if one is too much for you, it's too much. Call the ND and ask about cutting this in half. You might also ask about just cordyceps &/or ashwaghanda, leaving the Ginseng & Rhodiola alone for a while.
Holy Basil may work well as it's very calming and also an adrenal support.
See James Wilson's Adrenal link from your previous thread.
If you can't take this now, my guess is that later on you will be able to do so.
If just one with breakfast is still too "wiring" for you - I advise you to give up on it. For years, I tried many times to be able to tolerate ginseng (and later rhodiola).
It took me years before I was strong enough to do so. You likely need a different formula.
Bottom line: NEVER take anything that makes you feel wired. If it does that, it is not right for you at this point in time. Being "wired" is not good. Ever.
Be sure your magnesium and fish oil are on board. They help balance that "wired" effect.
Also be sure your diet is totally free of ALL MSG & aspartame (Google for all the names each hides under.
Avoid ALL "Natural Flavors" as they can be much like MSG and "wire" us. Avoid all artificial ingredients. They also can "wire" us. -

Oh boy-thanks for your feedback. Yes, I take one after breakfast - so maybe it's the ginseng & rhodiola? I'll check with my ND for sure, maybe he'll change things up. Really appreciate your input Keebler..

- Your ND may exchange what you have for a different one. Often, if something does not work out, they will take it back.
Also, ask if they have (in their own stock) an opened bottle from which you could try just a few of whatever else might be considered.
My ND has done this for me many times since many clients have to take a trial approach. I would be less inclined to do this for anyone other than a single doctor clinic, though, where there is no chance someone else can mix up trial bottles.
Good luck. -
