Sure clobbered me. But the places I had this done were not at that time at all Lyme Literate or sensitive to my differences.

Be sure to nourish and nurture. Hope you feel better.

Be sure to tell them on Monday about your reactions. It should be good. Ask if they can add glutathione to help your liver better detox.

and be sure they omit glutamine or glutamic acid, just in case that might have been in there. that can cause irritation to the whole body.

They should be able to custom tailor it just for you.

A slow drip is also better than a fast push.

This is the 7th myers cocktail iv my husband received. A friend said how she felt so much better getting ivs..... he sure doesn't!!

It really brought out the 'tipsy' lightheaded, whoozy feelings / sensations. He was also much more tired than usual. Could hardly make it up the stairs to go rest.

The doctor said it seems the ones who get the sickest afterwards are also the most toxic.

Hubby is wondering if he were to get a child sized iv, if he would not get so sick.

It is a drip and takes quite awhile. He's usually very ready to go home to rest by the time its finished. The doctor said its vitamin c, b complex, b -12, magnesium, and glutathione.

I had always understood that the glutathione should not be mixed in with the other ingredients. It should be done separately at the end as an IV push.

At least in the past it was my understanding that mixing in the glutathione basically made it useless.

I would suggest doing the IV without the glutathione and see what his reaction is to that.

And you may need to gradually increase the dose of IV glutathione starting with 100 or 200 mg and working up to the generally used dose of 1400 mg.

You also need to know the dose of vitamin c. Some people have to start with a low dose and work up. It supposedly works on viruses and that could make you feel bad. It can definitely affect blood sugar levels which might explain the fatigue. Some docs actually suggest you eat something during the IV.

Your doc should be providing you with a list of all the ingredients in the IV -- I always insisted on this with hubby. And many docs charge out the IV based on the amounts of each ingredient.

the glutahione is a separate bag - sorry, I forgot to mention that.

If I remember correctly - there are 50,000 mgs of vit c. We had asked about the c at the first visit as we were concerned about overdosing the c. He was taking around 20,000 mgs per day orally at that time. (taking it spread out throughout the day.) Currently he's taking only 10,000 mgs orally.

The doctor said cancer patients are given up to 100,000 mgs of c per day.

He does have to eat during the iv as he will start to feel like his sugar it dropping.

I eat before my IV to avoid the sugar issues and it helps. I get really fatigued during and then a herx kicks in and last about 2-3 days. After that I feel better for the rest of the week. I don't have glutathione in mine and I think I'm at 3g of C soon to go up to 5g.

From what I understand you should feel some reaction too it but it shouldn't be knocking you back horribly without leveling out. And if you're not feeling anything either positive or negative then an adjustment needs to be made.
