I'm reading that Iodine can take care of a lot of things, especially what we suffer with! I just started taking it a few days ago. I took the iodine test by placing a few drops of Lugol's solution on my arm, rubbing it in a circle then waiting an hour.

The yellow stain was gone. According to the opinions of others, it means you are iodine deficiant. I know that when I drink it mixed with water, I crave it! Something about the sharp taste, or maybe it's my imagination. It must be the natural form, not the over the counter stuff.

So what's your story?

I also enjoy the taste of a drop or two in a glass of water.

Glad you bring this up. Iodine is fabulous & vital - in exactly the right amount. And we often forget about it. This is especially important for those of us who long longer digest "fortified" foods (because they also often contain so much garbage).

I just don't think that the absence of a stain on the arm an hour later really means much.

There are so many differences in skin tone, texture, etc. . . . oil on that skin (which would prevent stain), sweating (which would wash the area)

. . . what your arm may have moved against . . . how dry or moist the skin was when the drop was applied (if very dry, it may have been slurped up in a jiffy).

My body can tell if I get too much. I found out that "just one more drop" is not always a good idea. Can you say (whoosh, whoosh) speedy to the max?

Iodine can be fabulous but it's a very thin line regarding dose - and timing (not too late in the day). It can be far too stimulating and, if in excess, adversely affect other organs and functions.

I'm sure you've read from many sources so this is probably not new to you - but for those new to this, here's a good place to start:

I'm on 15 drops of 2% solution of Lugol's per day. Started taking it about 5 days ago. Don't feel bad nor do I feel worse. I'll check any adverse symptoms.

I've read the pros & cons of the skin test which obviously means nothing. Regardless, I'm gonna try this for a while to see if any of my symptoms improve, especially the elbow/arm/knuckle pain. It says that iodine deficiency may cause it.

Trial and error...

Really? I've been reading nothing but positive about this supplement. I had almost every symptom of iodine deficiency to a T. Many pieces of the puzzle are coming together. I just hope this iodine will aid my body over-all.

I know that this Lyme bacteria puts the body in shock and it's bound to have lasting effects, even when treatment ends. Damage, I mean. Well, if I start gaining flexibility and losing the pain, I can thank the iodine. I hope I'm taking enough.

Any advice about how and when to take it. With or without food, in the a.m or any time?

What dose are most of you taking?

Thanks.
