don't know if it's the asthma or lyme thing right now?
i was having a hard time yesterday breathing and last night. this morning i started coughing and sneezing and coughed up a chunk of almost solid mucous.
it was definitely not thin, watery or stringy. it was thick and whitish and very solid.
not from my nose, i actually coughed it up.
lyme or this asthma stuff??

Drink lots of clear fluids, avoid salt and caffeine to try to help thin the mucus out.
If the mucus changes color, becomes foul smelling, or if you have difficulty breathing or develop a fever, call your doctor.
If this problem of thick mucus continues, make your doctor aware of it. There are breathing treatments that can be prescribed to help thin the mucus.
Also Mucinex, sold OTC, may be helpful, but check with your doctor or pharmacist before trying anything new to prevent any undesirable medication interactions.

Listen to Maryland Mom and to Keebler.
Systemic enzymes, like Serrapeptase or Wobenzym, will thin the mucous by reducing fibrin.
A salt inhaler will reduce inflammation in the lungs and kill bacteria.
