I took a liquid B supplement today thinking it would help with nerve issues I've been having.
Apparantly, it was a high dose-1,000mcg and says 16,666% of daily value.
A few hours later I was really dizzy! I googled this and read that some people can get dizzy when ingesting too much B12. Has anyone else had this happen? I am also on Babesia meds so im not sure if its a herx or a reaction to the B12.
The supplement states its the same amount as a B12 injection!! Im nervous!

I'd be surprised if this could be caused by a supplement only containing 1000mcg of B12. Oral absorption of B12 is very small, that's why the supplements have so much B12 - and I've seen some supplements with 5000mcg or even more.
I'd suspect the Babesia die-off more than the B12...but you can skip the B12 supplement for a while and then try it again to see if it happens again...

Hubby takes 5000 mcg of sublingual B12 daily. In the past he took 2 or 3 of the tablets daily.
Unless you have a genetic methylation issue then it is highly unlikely that you would overdose on B12. The body can store about 5 years worth in the liver I think it is.
The dizziness is most likely from babesia.

Thank you. The supplement included other b vitamins also. I know you can't really overdose because the body doesn't store b 12 but it seemed like a side effect. It was sudden and lasted about 30 min. I guess I will see if it continues and assume its Babesia if it does.

Jamers, was it liquid version (alcohol based)? The alcohol could be giving you yeast.
I have this issue. I cannot take anything with alcohol in it (makes me dizzy, which is a sign of yeast for me). I do take alcohol based herbs, however, I evaporate the alcohol first (warm water bath).

Tickled1-How did you react?
Catgirl-Why yes, it was a liquid version. Im wondering if my sinus and ear issues are yeast, or if there was some sugar in the liquid version to make it taste good that made it worse. I've been pretty sleepy lately also, which I've seen you mention that as yeast. Its so hard to know if Im herxing or having yeast problems
