A co-worker was just diagnosed with lyme disease following a bulls eye rash. Her MD is only giving her doxy for 1 week! I told her that I would see if there is any good literature I can give her to share with her doctor to educate her about the needed dose for at least one month.
I just arrived home and will begin searching but hoped that someone might be able to save me the time looking online.
Thank you!

Thanks Catgirl. I am going to send her Burrascano's guidelines and a couple of informative websites. I don't want to freak her out right now, as she just got the bulls eye rash. But the better treatment she gets now, the less likely it is that her illness will become chronic.

1 week? That's odd. Even the non lyme literate docs around here prescribe 3 weeks. Of course, it is still not the right treatment but....1 week?
I think this is a very good article and is a nice summary. Great intro into the world of lyme.
Towards the end of the article, there is a section "oral antibiotics". Highlight that part for her.
