derk,

I answered your pm in detail about herbs and salt/c to go after parasites. Both very inexpensive. Doxy at 100 mg is not going to touch the kind of symptoms and infection you are describing. There is no quick fix with this disease.

I understand your fear as I have been there myself.

It's part of the disease. You can step into the herbs very lightly by opening the capsules and mixing the powder in unsweetened applesauce.

The same with the salt/c. You can just sip it at a VERY low dose. Coconut oil is great for brain fog and so are digestive plant enzymes, but for goodness sake, you can't let this go or it will get worse.

You have been asking for help and posting for a while now. Do you have anyone that can give you support while going through the herxes?

Gael

Derk -

If you are having neurological symptoms (anxiety, panic attacks) there's a good chance you've had Lyme for a while.

ANYONE WANT TO COMMENT ON DERK'S IGENEX RESULTS?

Neuro symptoms are best resolved with either intramuscular abx shots (self-administered), or IV abx (expensive!).

In the meantime, it will be much more difficult to get ANY positive results if your body is overloaded with parasites. Definitely get to work on that, as it is cheap, and relatively easy to do.

Google "intestinal parasites" and see what comes up. I know that cloves are supposed to be good for killing eggs, and the salt/vitamin C protocol seems to work wonders for lots of folks here.

I also like Gael's suggestion you try taking virgin coconut oil - which will supply the essential fatty acids that your brain needs to rebuild healthy tissue.

Another good supplement could be Cod Liver Oil - again essential fatty accids, but with vitamins D and A.

Many here find they are low on magnesium, a basic mineral that doesn't cost a lot of money. It helps to ease the "jitters" or even muscle spasms.

If you are not taking any vitamin supplements, start off with the basics - that practically everone needs: Vitamin C, B-Complex vitamins, and Vitamin E.

You may find that once you start on some supplements some of your symptoms may subside a bit.

But first, I would suggest you pay closer attention to what you are eating. Be wary of eating fast food, sugary foods (which parasites and yeast will love), and try to ditch any soft drinks, if that is your weakness. (Sugar in regular is a no no for Lyme victims, and the aspartame in diet is an "excitotoxin" that can mess with your brain.)

Instead, try to eat some good protein snacks at intervals throughout the day; hard boiled eggs, peanut butter, nuts, even cheese or a glass of milk if you tolerate/enjoy dairy.

Protein foods help to keep our blood sugar on an even keel. When blood sugar drops, we can feel woozy, weak, and confused. And don't forget your veggies! They can help your body to rid itself of toxins.

Have you ever thought about what foods are typical of your daily diet? It may help to keep a list of what you eat each day, so you might take a closer look.

Sometimes small changes in our habits can help us to feel a little better, even when we're facing a major challenge - like lyme and cos.

I wish you only the best, Derk!

I will try and keep this as simple as I can. You can start with 1/4 tsp sea salt and 1/4tsp Ester C powder with bioflavinoids in a glass of water sipping it once a day/ Ramp up 1/4tsp once a day according to how you are herxing.

I buy Real Salt 26oz size for about $8 and Ester C powder with bioflavinoids by American health at www.vitacost.com

You can also order Parastroy from them for about $12 for the kit. Start with one capsule each para rid and para sweep WITH FOOD once a day. Then 2 x a day when you feel comfortable.

If you don't want to take the whole capsule by mouth and want to go slower, you can open the capsules and mix the powder in unsweetened applesauce and take a little at a time so it won't be so scary for you and you can control the dose that way.

After you are comfortable with this, you can add other things which I can go over with you in a pm.

DETALED LIST TO ORDER:

(1)PARASTROY

(2)REAL SALT

(3)ESTER C POWDER WITH BIOFLAVINOIDS

(4) SUPER DIGESTAWAY BY SOLORAY

(5) EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL

I'd appreciate it if you would write this down so I don't have to keep repeating. let me know if this is clear. PLEASE START ASAP and keep us posted.

I was just on Buehner's site and he talked about the use of Japanesse knotweed for neuro issues. He recommended greendragonbotanicals.com. Lots of info there.

My youngest starts bicillin IM shots tonight for cognitive lingering issues. I hope it is the answer!!

IgeneX results: looks like it could very well be Lyme. I think many Lyme docs would try treatment.

I was on 100 mg doxy 2x per day for 8 months but it didn't touch the neuro symptoms at all.

i feel for you. It is so hard to figure out what is wrong with the mind when the mind is the main thing that is impacted.

I think it is worth a shot to treat, in whatever way you feel comfortable

Do you have someone to discuss this with?

I have a friend that I have come to call my "surrogate brain" I spill what I am thinking, he filters it through his clear mind and helps me make sense of it.

AuntyLynn,

A little confused as to why ascorbic acid compared to a non acidic Ester C would be better. Really never heard of it being in discord with our enzymatic production.

Non buffered C which is highly acidic can really be harsh on the tummy esp in higher doses.

LOL! I just deleted that comment because I didn't want to confuse Derk.

If you read Linus Pauling's books on C (he was a Nobel Prize winning Chemist), he says that the stomach must produce very specific enzymes to absorb the various types of Vitamin C.

He warned in his book "Let's Live Longer and Feel Better" (about his experiments giving mega-doses of C to cancer patients), that if one abruptly switched from a high dose of one type of C to another, it was like pulling the C from the patient altogether.

He said many of his "hopeless" cancer patients who were showing improvement on his megadose protocol, and abruptly switched to another type of C, suffered alarming consequences - even death... because their bodies had not been given the chance to "ramp up" the digestive enzymes necessary to assimilate the large dose of the new "type." (I made this mistake once, and suffered a rare herpes outbreak.)

Again, I have never had "acid pains" taking reliable Health Food brand of C, like Solgar. I am convinced that it is the cheaper brands, that pack in a lot of fillers, that may cause some folks problems.

I have taken 5 grams daily for years, and periods where I took 10 grams for weeks - with no problem using plain old ascorbic acid with bioflavonoids.

I seemed to have responded to a post about ascorbic acid that AuntyLynn posted above mine. Seems to have been deleted. Makes me look like I walked into a (excuse the pun)worm hole.

Now you see it, now you don't [lol]

Sorry Gael! My bad!

The comment was about choosing reliable "health food brands" for Vitamin C, as opposed to cheap grocery store/drug store vitamins which often have loads of cheap fillers - and my hypothesis that the fillers may be what gives some people "acid pains" when taking vitamin C.

Ester C is supposed to cut this risk, but since Ascorbic Acid is routinely added to LOTS of our foods, I think it may confuse the body's enzyme production to take Ester C, in high doses... while one is likely to be eating ascorbic acid on a regular basis, as found commonly in foods.

BTW, my "problem" occured when I went from ascorbic acid (tablets) to calcium ascorbate powder! Who'd a thunk!

Oh okay, thanks for clarifying that AuntyLynn! Very familiar with Linus Pauling and have been for years.

Do you know what 2 different types of C he was referring to? Just wondering? Don't want to confuse derk either. Acidic vs non acidic? Or something else? Was he saying that buffered C depletes enzymes? Sounds like a more acidic C would deplete enzymes.

It's always something isn't it? Good thing I like to take Digestive enzymes then. I think we become depleted in enzymes when we are sick and that's why it's a good idea to supplement. Hope you are doing well. [Smile]

derk,
Sorry but 100mg b.i.d. of "doxy" won't do s#!& for you if you are "late-stage". All it will do is coax any Burgdorferi 'ketes to just convert to the "L-form" (spheroplast) to avoid it's effects.
And many of *those* can convert *back* to the wild [spirochete] form in the weeks following your discontinuation of the abx. A waste of time & money.

MUCH better to go w/ Aunty's suggest to try something like I.M. (intra-muscular) shots of Bicillun LA *along with* a cyst-buster like Flagl.

Some of the herbs can *help*, but you should consult an L.L.N.D. (naturopathic doc familiar w/ Lyme) for the best recommends there.

Ketr-tracker,

derk says he doesn't have any money to see s doctor. He did consult an ND I believe who told him he was loaded with parasites which abx will not eradicate. That's why i suggested the herbs and salt/c which saved my life.

Taking antiparasitic herbs and salt/c can be very antagonistic against these pathogens.

Granted it can take several yrs, to get rid of the parasites, eggs and larva and it takes much persistence. IM bicillin, 4 yrs of oral abx and 6 mos of IV rocephin did not eradicate these infections for me.

Just sayin,

Gael
