I am heading in a new ABX direction next week. LLMD has charted a new course and I am excited. I would say I am about 60-70 percent there (stalled the last 3 to 4 months) but still have the memory issues, fatigue and need to collapse on the weekends. Got Bart and CPN along with the Lyme.
I am taking a blood pressure medication and want to cut it in half and then get off of it if possible. I do not know if it is the parasites, abx or the Lyme and coinfections but I am looking for ways to reduce my BP.
I will be looking at diet approaches as well as exercise and supplementation. I met with my GP today and he said my BP is still too high to reduce the amount but that I am not that far off.
Thanks for all the help, my boys and I continue to progress do in major part to this site and your supportive comments.
All the Best, MattH

- When considering herbal / nutritional / adjunct methods - whether to address lyme or for support
- or for addressing certain issues whether or not lyme related (such as blood pressure although that can certainly be affected by lyme) -
if at all possible - because each person & each case is different - it's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL (lyme literate) doctor who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -
- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present.
Many LL NDs incorporate antibiotics (depending upon the licensing laws in their state). Some LLMDs and LL NDs have good working relationships.
When possible, it's great to have both a LLMD and LL ND and even better when they have a long-standing professional relationship.
Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (Be aware that those in this category can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;
knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
You can compare and contrast many approaches.
BASIC HERBAL EDUCATIONAL & SAFETY links, etc. These are helpful for your personal research and study, too. You can just take off from any of these sites to learn more. -
